No they're not at all in factory form. The 05+ pumps have more volume output and pressure than the 03-04 factory pumps.

Nope, the 03/early 04 pumps do have a slight advantage, and can run 225's, the 05+ pumps are maxed at 205's.

Yeah I've also heard the 03-early 04 pumps can run a bigger injector than the 05-07 pumps can. They seem to be slightly better.

Never heard this before

Check out Elites injectors, they say it in the 225 and 205 description. I talked to Tadd about it long ago, and the same applied. As far as Pizzapig, a worn out pump of either style will drop, but fact is a new 03 pump is capable of 225's, 05+ 205's, nothing new.

The question is, are the pumps actually maintaing higher icp or is it just an illusion that they are maintaining icp because the icp sensor is most often located at the pump, rather than in the HPO rails, when the early pumps are used.

To each his own, ive seen new 03 pumps drop icp with 175s

Just to play devil's advocate, as there is truly no info one way or the other. I have seen 05+ pumps drop icp with 175s as well. Heck, we have seen pumps drop icp with stock injectors, regardless of year.

Since were going sideways discussing ICP and HPOP issues. Here are the pics of a problem, yet to be fixed. As I said in my previous post, as temps get toward normal, pressure drops off. Remember the back-pressure is ATM, so subtract 14.2psi for a relative number.

The ICP remains within 2600-2900 psi once the temps are at normal operating at WOT. The new pump/STC/IPR go in next week.

I am dropping ICP with 190/100s, and they have a small haze at idle.

Frank. What is "X Press 1" on your dash boss?? Because that also seems to be dropping as your temps heat up. Just curious.

Fuel, on the regular system. It typically sits mid 70s (Blue spring) and it really starts to drop when the PW get >2.2ms. Sometimes it is up or down, but never really gets below 38 psi, although one day I saw it at 35 psi with higher RPM. If I planned on driving it like this often, a RR would be needed. I am still considering a 6.4 lift pump, and if I do that, it is just a few more fittings to turn it into a RR.

The truck pulls hard, but when the ICP is up, it is a completely different beast. The ICP is a leak of some type.
