I should have added that the pressure will stay about 50 psi if I don't create a deficit by pressing the AP to quickly, but there isn't as much fun in doing that!

The question is, are the pumps actually maintaing higher icp or is it just an illusion that they are maintaining icp because the icp sensor is most often located at the pump, rather than in the HPO rails, when the early pumps are used.

They are simply two vastly different pumps, it's been awhile, so it's a little fuzzy. The early pump is a seven piston swash pump, and the 05 switched to a standard v-4 pump. The later v-4 pump is slightly better at low rpm icp, but the early 7 piston swash pump holds better everywhere else, and is also easier to modify for increased performance. I believe this is why we have an early adrenaline pump that works, as opposed to the 05+ pumps simply because they allow for more improvement. Has nothing to do with icp placement, all about two completely different pumps.

Just to play devil's advocate, as there is truly no info one way or the other. I have seen 05+ pumps drop icp with 175s as well. Heck, we have seen pumps drop icp with stock injectors, regardless of year.

Pumps are subject to wear, old or new style. Only fair way is new pump vs. new pump.

If I had to buy a new 03 pump....it would be from dieselsite..... I get engines in all the time with remanned pumps in them... I sell them just like a core pump for liabilty reasons....I sold one a few months ago with a 2010 remanmed tag for 125....they are just too iffy to risk
