One thing about running that much wheel diameter with that little of tire diameter is very little sidewall. One thing I've noticed is that trucks with more sidewall tend to keep transmissions in tact far longer than trucks with very little sidewall.

I think the sidewall wrinkle is a huge damper for the entire driveline. I know my tires chirp a lot more on shifts with the 18" wheels vs the 17's. And the drive is much more direct.

With a 20, I wouldn't run less than a 35 in terms of helping the trans. I'm running a 35 on an 18 and it's got basically no shock dampening at all. A 35+ on a 16.5" rim has tons.

You dont like the direct feeling of.the tire and the road? Ive got 37s and 16s now and its really not as wobbly as people think. I dont notice much in the.way of.driveline.dampening.but my truck is only making.400 rwhp so I dont accidentally burn the 37s. No.chirping or incindental spinning. I have to pin the pedal and get the 38r boosting.over 10psi before the rubber starts to burn. Even at the low power level Im living at I think the truck is fairly nimble. Im desperately hoping.to get some 250 or.300 cc inj's and 200 over nozzles in the truck this summer. I think with that and some 33" rubber I should have a decent street setup that I can still use. Im just hoping I dont regret taking the lift off.

I like the direct feeling of a short sidewall, it's the walking home with a busted trans that gets old. There is a direct correlation between sidewall height and flex vs broken transmissions on comparably powered trucks.

Got ya. Makes sense, what it was that you had said to me. Im thinking.a bts will laugh at the power levels im planning which should be 500, give or take a couple dozen. Now Im toying.with the.idea of a set of 35x13.5's,lol. Although Im sure Ill wind up running a level stock height with 33's as there is something.compelling.me.to.do it.

Oh, and am I correct in the thought yours is busted again? What.keeps breaking? Im not sure you can get a stronger box than the bts. Ultimate machines their.trannys out to accept a true.13" convertor, not that convertors are usually the trouble in built trannys.

Thanks Dude!

Tires don't rub at all at full lock now. They did before on the inner fender liner, but I trimmed it and it fixed the problem.

It is very close to rubbing the front fender but it never has.

Roll pan I bought used from a guy and I traded to a friend for an 08 bumper.

The roll pan was from Lund and it was fiberglass.

I'll take a pic of how much I trimmed the left front inner fender.

Not really it's fault. Back when my truck was having violent 300hp mood swings it sheared off the input shaft and annihilated the pump snout with it. The guys at swamps helped me out and just pieced it back together with another pump they had. It lasted for a while, but I'm sure all the metal and damage finally took it's toll. It won't build pressure once it's at temp. It will go in gear and move when it's cold, then shortly thereafter you just hear a hissing sound from near the pump and it doesn't move.

My plan is to lift between shifts like it's a manual and see if that keeps it happy for the long haul. In the meantime I've got to finish my shop, wheel it in, completely tear everything down, get the body to ground, refab my compound setup off to the side and get a CR setup running up top.

None of which I plan to start on until I finish my shop. Engine teardown isn't a gravel driveway job, and I can't just keep driving to Tn every time I need to tear something apart.

Oh yea! I know you had to have seen the video.of swamps cr7.3, if.not.the.actual motor. Thing idles so.smooth and im sure the power is seamless also. I just wanna.see.what a setup will do on the rollers.
