The trucks do it from the factory, any time you tap the brakes it should unlock the torque converter. The only way it wont do this correctly is if you have a tune like x-race loaded where it's constantly telling the torque converter to stay locked up. It doesn't downshift, just unlocks the converter. You don't have to take you foot off the throttle for it to work either, just give the brake pedal a tap and it should unlock and RPM's will go up a bit.
It does NOT work with the tune I have...once locked up, it stays locked up until the lockup speed is reached again on the way down...brakes do nothing to unlock my tune. (Unless I use them to slow down to the lock up speed.)
Eric has mine setup now that it is unlocked at 50 mph. I can flash the torque converter up to 2000 rpm if need be to build boost if required for hilly intown driving, and it still locks up later if merging out onto the highway.
I don't seem to have as much smoke now either, but that may be because of the ability to flash up the converter now, and make boost while it's unlocked.
Thanks Eric!!:toast:
