That's possible but it wouldn't cause him to loose oil from the engine. If it were that o ring it would just drain back to the pan through the head.

I'm still betting on turbo seal.
rings not sealing, valves not sealing, all play a part..

For oil loss, I agree that it's something else. He mentioned inj orings without access to pressure gauges or pumps.

I found some poppet issues this way. However it won't work if there's a bad IPR allowing the oil flow to drain.

Got my scanners in today. Downloading Torque Pro as we speak. Is anyone familiar with the program and are there any parameters I should look at after I listen to a buzz test?

Well torque won't do a buzz test.
Buy car gauge pro.
But look at icp, ipr Duty cycle. I feel like I'm forgetting one.

I felt like car gauge pro was garbage and not user friendly at all, so I opted for torque for gauges and forscan on my laptop for buzz test and more specific diagnostics. IPR went from about 8 to 36 under hard acceleration and HPOP was 475 at idle and I believe 2700 or so under acceleration

Have you checked the downpipe for oil yet? After idling for 10-15 minutes of idling. It should be kinda dry feeling and come out on your fingers. But if there's oil that'll be slimy.

I haven't been able to check the downpipe. Had a lot going on today. Will check on that tomorrow afternoon

^^ Agreed, the HPO performance seems fine. Theres adequate oil pressure and volume to run the injectors.

OP, Definitely check on the potential oil loss past the turbo. The downpipe will be slimy if its getting by there. Otherwise, the oil is getting by the piston rings , leaking out on ground, or getting by the injector oring to fuel rail. If its the latter, its slow leak and not enough to cause HPO pressure loss.

How many valve and ring issues do you usually see on 7.3s. I don't hear about all that many. Ring issues it usually starts hard every time from lack of compression.
