Could there a problem with the HPOP? Still takes 10 seconds or more to get enough pressure to start.

I checked the HPOP and a lot of times before, it's empty AND I can't get oil to it after cranking and cranking. Hate to do it but I'm gonna have to check the lpop. Or just put an extra quart of oil in it? I welded the oil pickup tube when I installed it. Has a hole or seal come lose? If I prime the HPOP, it'll start but, not by itsef. I did check the bypass valve. Oil will come up that way and after reinstall, oil will come up to HPOP Rez. So what changes? Losing prime I guess.

Doesn't sound like the anti drain back vlv is working?
20 psi of lpo ought to be adequate, even if it's not optimal to fill the rez.

It was a new one from Ford. I'm still gonna inspect the lpop. I'm hoping some trash got in it somehow and not a "gotta pull the motor" type of problem.

But why did it start this after I put on the Gen3? I should probably drain oil and cut open the filter and see if anything is funky is in it.

This is prob stupid but I had a drain back issue due to an early hpop gasket on a late cover. Just a thought though I am not sure how the gen 3 could change the situation

I could put another pump on but by judging the front cover, that's won't work. Replacing the front cover means pulling the engine.

Looking at the damage on the gears, looks like welding slag from welding the pickup tube. Only a guess.

Should have TIG welded it by professional.

I'm gonna need some motivation to get this done.

Dam that blows!
Can you rebuild the pump, or is it cheaper to buy a new one?
How would welding slag get past the oil filter from the pickup tube?
Might be time we'll spent to open the oil galleys ahead of the hpop and clean them also.

The oil pickup tube goes straight to the pump then to the filter.

I may try to put my old oil pump on, see how it reacts then put in shop and see when I can pull engine.

Same place where tools was stolen.

I put a good used oil pump on, tried to repair front cover damage, and I swear that the problem is still there.

Truck still going to default 727 psi ICP.

Recap what all I did,
New ICP sensor from ford. And new pigtail
New Alliant inj o-rings.
New IPR, but put back in old one. And new pigtail.
Put good LPOP in, and patched front cover pump surface that got scared.

Only thing I hope that might be wrong is the engine harness. Got another one coming. (I hope).

If you're getting a new harness anyway. Why not just cut the wires at your icp pigtail and run them all the way to the PCM harness connection in the correct pins obviously. That would be an easier way to eliminate the harness for a test rather than replace the whole thing.

I got Continuity with those wires. The common wire that goes to the other sensors is grounding out. I guess it's suppose to be that way.
