How does your truck idle?

Mainly when you are stopped at a stop light. Is it smooth like a car where you don't feel any vibrations or what? Obviously the reason i'm posting this is that ever since my build over a year ago mine hasn't been smooth. The truck shakes a little bit. You can also hear what almost sounds like a miss at times. Goes away as soon as you accelerate. I know Blk350on20s has a similar issue and we both have very similar builds including the elite stage one hpfp. Reason I mention the hpfp is because it is no longer offered on their site, and I figure that there is a reason why. It also makes a really annoying high pitched sound.

any feedback is appreciated.

Mines doing the same thing - annoying pitch and all right now although I dont have all my bugs worked out. Only things we have in common are the ported rails and egr delete though...

Same here. Tuned and deleted. Little bit of a rock to the truck and what sounds like an occasional skip. It is especially noticeable when you stand by the exhaust. The "skip" is very audible.

I always get one when in high idle. But im never looking at my dashdaq to see if anything changes. Tuned and deleted with a entire new stock fuel system installed under warranty 3000 miles ago

Yep. Mines got a little shake to it when its idling when its warm. Then it has a quick skip to it. Im not sure if its the HPFP that whines. almost like a woo woo woo woo. Jeff has something similar to it but I think his is line harmonics. Ive been meaning to get video. Ill try and get it tonight.

I have anywhere from 200 to 700 psi fluctuations in rail pressure at idle with big tunes and I have the most annoying vibration noise anywhere from idle up to 9000-10000 psi of rail pressure. I just spent $150 on Industrial fuel line clamps that didn't do a damn thing about the noise. I'm extremely annoyed with my truck at this point....almost to the point where I want to take the ported fuel rails off because it didn't start until they were installed.

well good to know i'm not alone. When it is cold, my truck legitimately lopes on the 345. Guess it's just the nature of the beast though. I was sitting at a light today and it felt like I was bouncing up and down in my seat.

I have ported rails but stage 2 fuel system. Mine will make a high pitch wine and be up and down in tone but only when cold. Like 40 degrees or less. Anything over that and it is quiet and no loping.

My truck only shakes if it's in high idle and rail pressure is fluctuating bad. Doesn't do it otherwise. The fuel line noise is constant though. Hot or cold. The 210 is mild, but anything higher sounds awful.

I have the hpfp line with harmonics too, only on my truck with the dragonfire pump tho. Both my 6.4's have ported rails, and the one with the elite pump does not have the harmonic noise. For those with the hiccup or what you think is a miss, try turning you heater/ac control off. They will hiccup when the ac pump kicks in and out. The control has to be off tho, the ac pump still cycles even if it's on vent or defrost.

My truck lopes a bit, has since I deleted it. It's just deleted and tuned, doesn't make much of a difference what tune.

My rail pressure fluctuates up and down by a few hundred psi at idle too. I don't think it's an issue though do to the fact that it's in the high 5000's to low 6000's I figure it's normal. Your engine ramp changes the same so that's what I think makes the RP dip and rise.

But the bigger tunes do lope when it's cold out and the engines cold.

mine has always made some high pitched noises at idle with stock and modded pumps, right now depending on the tune with dual fuelers its really bad because of the long line that runs from the front pump to the rear, not sure what causes it but its pcv related in the pump for whatever reason.

Funny that Jeff clamped his and it didn't stop. If I touch mine with something it stops.
