Whats a *** lol. I just think maybe the stock tune on the hot setting us crappy on the mini max. Honestly its not alot of smoke but not as clean as it probably could be.
Bought my 08 f350 crew cab 4x4 dually with 170,000 . Now has 182,000 . 3 months ago spent 1,500 on leaking oil return hose on passenger side and leaking water pump and tensioner bearing. Drove 1000 miles and engine starts to smoke . 500 miles later on of my turbos made a loud noise and no more turbo boost and now while driving at about 2000-2500 rpm i get a loud clattering noise from engine . Cant make the noise while in park in driveway only when driving under load. I think the engine git hurt bad . I checked reviews and it looks like the 6.4 is a p.o.s. from the beginning. For a truck that's supposed to get 500,000miles im nowhere near that . . Love the truck but hate the engine . Now my beautiful truck needs a engine and the cost is unbelievable. Dont know where I'm gonna get that money now after just spending $1500 n repairs . But im not getting rid of my truck so I have to figure something out . I would suggest to anyone , stay away from the 6.4 powerstroke . Ford should be ashamed for putting out such a bad engine !!
I bought another in July. 08 Fx4 crew short, ******d , etc, etc, 143k miles for 6 grand. Transmission was out and it has a salvage title but it is almost rust free. Threw a used 500 dollar Transmission in it and have been driving it since. Almost forgot how much I like them while they're running.
Injector stick ya think? Was it cylinder #2?

Like leaking combustion into cooling system or leaking like externally??317,000 miles still runs good even though it has a leaking head gasket.
The vgt controller messed up and closed the veins on a hill pulling a load.

I agree. Need to get hoist set up in the shop first. Still runs good, other than it pushes coolant above 12 psi of boost.Nows a good time to get a cam, lifters, rockers, and pistons in it before it renders the block useless
