So ive been having some underlining issues with the truck lately. I am planning on pulling the cab sometime in the next 6 weeks, and the plan for right now is...

Replace up pipes
STC fittings
Dummy plugs
Oil cooler rebuild
Injector o rings
Injector cups
Swap EGR delete

But, considering i will have to pull all the top end apart, i dont want to put stock used parts back in, when i know i will be pulling it back apart next year. So i am considering adding these mods while im in there...

MTW hybrid
190/? Warren injectors
Stud
Airdog II

Heres my delima....

If i do the work myself, i can probably get away with spending just under 4k. With spending this money, i want to make sure that i am not going to have to pull this motor apart for any other reason in the next few years. What the hell else am i missing to ensure i am covering all the typical failures of this motor?

Also, if you guys would do it another way, holler at me and let me know. Where would you guys get all these listed parts above? I will have to order injectors, turbo and studs new of course. I really need your opinion for my research on this guys! Thanks in advance.

You going the right way man. Match the sticks to the turbo and enjoy. Once and done. I should have went bigger on the turbo the first time. A pmax will not clean up 190/75's lol

I hope I am on the right road, I just want to make sure. I have done tons of reading and research, but I just want to make sure I am not leaving anything out. Ive read so much in the past year or so, I am sure I have forgotten some stuff.

I am not opposed to a non-VGT, but I like the option of a drop in unit. What do you guys recommend for a non-VGT unit?

If you went with the 63 or a 364 fmw using 175/50 or 75's, you may want to go with a .76 divided t3 turbine, I would say an .83 divided t4 but those sticks may not have enough low end to get it going. I have been known to be wrong though.

The vgt, the stage 3 will roll with 190/75 or 100's if you go that big on injectors. It may have enough to work good with 175's, but again how would the low end do?

The rest looks good to me as well.

With 190s.. I'd say either a 362 or 64 fmw

I know the cups arent a real issue with these trucks, but I have read more than a few times where the cups failed, and I figured while I am in there, I want to eliminate any future issues. Keep in mind, most of my knowledge to failures on these motors is purely research knowledge. Im the only cat in my local group with a 6.0.

Im beginning to think the hybrid isnt enough air to satisfy the 190's. Im thinking I am going to have to go a bit bigger, stage 3 or a different route. I am sold on MTW, because guys on here realy like the turbo, and have had some pretty good numbers.

Steve...EMAAAAAAIL!!!!!!

Looks like stage 2 barder has won me over. The price is fair, the build is solid, and these turbos seem to be making big numbers. If i could pull a stage 3 off, i would be confident to push over 600 hp on a dyno.
