If you stick to a vgt turbo I would say no less than a Barder Stage 2. Swapping turbos is easy so if possible consider sticking with a stock turbo a little longer and swing a Barder 68 or 71 when the budget allows. The stage 2 MAY haze a bit much for 190s especially if youre looking for clean power (notice you live in california). Just something to consider.

Clean power is important, thats a big reason why i run Matt's file. The killer on the bigger barder is the fact that you have to buy a new powermax to have it built. Shoots the price to almost 3k. Im assuming well worth it, just a lot of coin.

Telling you. Fleece billet 63vgt and 175's or 155's. you'll be pleased with the results. Nothing against Barder either. Great company, great products. I'm just familiar with the 63vgt and it works well, IMO.

Ok, let me ask this. Will 175/100's and a fleece 63 get me close to 600 RWHP?

I just dont want to get the 175's, and regret not getting 190's. Whats the price on a fleece 63VGT?

No need for a 100% nozzle with 175s. Oliver made 600 with the barder 68 vgt 175/75 and gearhead tunes and zero smoke.

I just asked barder and its not $3K. It's just north of $2k. I don't know anything about the fleece turbo so I can't comment on that one.

My bad on the stage three pricing. I misread the quote, dont know how, but i did. With a 68 VGT, will i still be able to tow? Being a VGT, im sure it helps, but i dont want to completely dimenish the practicality of the truck. In otherwords i want to still be able to tow 15k without issue. I know i can defuel, but not sure if defueling will build enough boost to haul on vacations.

Im thinking the answer might be a stage 3, with 175's or even 190's. i never realized there was such a science to matching turbos with injectors.

190cc with a 30 or 50% nozzle and a barder 68 will be able to tow with a good tow file from matt and still lay down 550+ no doubt.

Another option is 175cc/190cc with stock nozzles and the fleece 63, would be a sweet combo and be able to tow whatever you throw at it and still be good for power, albeit a but smokier than the above.

Why would the stock nozzles be any smokier? Or the the turbo the variant here?

190's might be pretty big to tow 15k, but nozzle choice is probably the key. I agree with Pizza Pig... 30% or 50%. I wondered if my stage 2 would spool similarly to my race file with so little fuel (stock injectors), but that's the goodness of vgt... It towed 10k great.

Looks like im walking a fine line for towing and streetable power. It looks like i have to make an injector choice, then order a turbo from that point.

190/100's for street fun

Or

175/75's for not as much fun and still be able to tow.

Pizza, i missed your post. Damn tapatalk and wifi. So you think 190/50's will do the trick huh? I was hoping to be on the 575+ hp range. Also, im considering ordering an adrenaline hpop, just one more preventive measure. Will this help with hp ratings as well?

One more thing. I am re-researching injectors, and finding the top names are casserly (obviously) and elite. I was planning on running warren injectors, but i dont think i can shell the coin for EDE or Casserly injectors. I see a lot of guys running warren sticks, but they arent always the recommended injectors. Are warren injectors still a solid injector at the config i want? (Say its 190/50's)

Do you have headwork anywhere in the plans. It can get pricey quick. I'm sure you know they're not exactly flat from ford.

Im not even puking coolant yet. Im sure my heads are fine, but i will probably have them milled just for a safe state of mind. I am considering buying a used set, having them milled, and installing those. But ive been told that its not recommended to do so. IDK...

Might of found a set of good heads. Is it bad to install heads from another block to avoiding wait time on a machinist?
