95 7.3 f250 auto in the shop.... Customer complained it died going down the road. Brings it in.
-I thought cps, yet the tach is reading 250ish cranking
-checked fuel psi and found 2psi and I replaced the pump.

Truck simply will not start....
-no white smoke out the tail pipe, yet good fuel psi? (around 50 now)
-ICP reading 3200 after extended crank
-tried a new cps
-HPOP is full.
-oil is full
-WTS light comes on
-no codes

How could I check IDM? At this point it's stumping me.

Tomorrow I'll pull VC's and check harness and report back. But shoot some ideas for me to check out while I'm in there and elbow deep

Check the fuses, I think the one for the fuel bowl heater can blow and cause a crank/no start.

If you haven't yet, unhook the batteries and let it sit a little bit, then hook em up and try again.

And to check the IDM just swap in a known good IDM, all 7.3 IDM's are interchangeable from 94-03.

FPR screen is clean. Fuse number 22 is good. Batteries are brand new, and cables have zero corrosion with good contact. I'll try to swap IDM, and the truck is bone stock with no chip

He wasn't talking about the FPR, he was talking about the in-tank pickup screens.

Didn't see where he took another reading after he replaced the pump.

Yep, very first post. It is easy to miss though. I'm with your original idea, it sounds like an electrical problem for it to just die and have no smoke coming from the exhaust sounds like the injectors aren't firing.

Does it even buzz on a buz test? Fuel pressure is in check and hpo is in check but no smoke out the pipe means injectors are not firing.... get it scanned for codes and bet you will find that there is nobody home in the IDM department.

It sounds like the injectors aren't firing at all. I'd check the IDM as said, and also check to make sure the IPR nut didn't come off.

Lol, three posts saying injectors not firing all within 60 seconds, but I'm the fastest.

I have an OBS shop truck. I'll pull the IDM off it. That just confused me, IDM chit the bed at the same time the fuel pump did

Fuel pump could have been gone for a while. Although it bad for injectors to run with low fuel pressure the truck allows it.
