Yes the bottom one bud. Take it all the way out. The upper one stays as the bracket on the injector slides around it. Having an adjustable little prybar makes getting them out really nice too.

This is pretty much every tool I used couldn't tell you on the socket sizes but the they are for valve covers, gp's, injectors, clamps, wiring harness bolts and the 1/2in is for the crank to clean out cylinders. After you Put the injectors in slowly rotate the crank 8 times, don't forget the valve covers. I bumped the engine over a few times after. Then i cranked the engine about 5 times 20 seconds each time waiting about 10 mins between. And that was to try and build up pressure in the oil system with out the starter having to fight compression. If I remember anything else ill chime in.

valve covers are 13mm bottom injector bolt is an 8mm glow plugs are 10mm, break em loose with a 10 then pull out with an 11mm, sometimes the socket will get stuck nect to the push rod. i wouldnt mess with the oil plugs, jus turn it over w/o gps in

So is it absolutely necessary to have an inch LBS torque wrench?

No. Just divide all the in/lb. specs by 12 and you can use your ft/lb torque wrench....though I never really followed torque specs on my injectors the 6 or so times they've been out except for once. I've never had any problems.

I actually used an old small beam torque wrench on the injector hold downs. 10lbs. done. I also smack the injectors with a rubber mallet and listen to them, they sound different when seated. Lay a straight edge over the tops of the injectors like stated before, it only takes an extra 3 seconds and gives instant feedback. It fun to have a "friend" watch to se if any oil squirts out of this glow plug hole when I bump it over. Make sure they are wearing safety glasses though. Oil covered friend is funny, injured friend is not.

How long do I crank the motor over to make sure the oil is out of the cylinders? And this is prob a stupid question but im out of it right now, do I install my new injectors before I clear out the cylinders?

Like said above hand turn it over eight revolutions with the new injectors installed with the glow plugs out to get the majority out of the cylinders then 5 times at 20 seconds a piece to help build oil pressure in the system and finish up clearing the cylinders. Install gp back in the motor and give it a whirl...

I turned it over with injectors out. Either way make sure you have one hole open for the oil to squirt out of. Hand turning it sucks but is much safer and you can watch what is going on.

i reconnect the main electrical connector with just the glow plugs out so you can prime the oil system and fuel systems while you are clearing the oil out of the cylinders.

Seems to me that doing it with the injectors out of the hole would defeat the purpose? Isnt fuel being sprayed down in there while you have the key on?
