There are not too many applications out there that use the particular bulb type much anymore. They are more common in older model vehicles for the most part.
Not completely true...nearly every single motorcycle on the planet, new & old is 1156 &1157......that is why all us motorcyclist are suffering....no one makes anything that is sufficient.
My 1996 Harley all the way to my 2015 Harley , and all metric bikes are 1157 & 1156.
...that is why I said that anyone that would make one would corner the market.

The problems motorcyclist are having is:
1. No options
2. Not a big enough difference of brightness between running and brake.
3. Need a minimum of 180° viewing angle
4. Color options...red(rear), white(rear), Amber(front)
Here are our options:
Bright enough...but only viewable from directly behind....not good.
180° viewable...but no real difference between running and when the brake is depressed...not safe
