What year is your truck? I was looking at my 2000 and I am not sure how the spring would stay in place if I cut it since the bottom looks like it gets smaller and at the top the end of the spring looks like it slides into a hoop.

I just did the same damn thing when I pulled my idm lol

LOL i just did the same thing today and was like uh oh...

The loop that holds the spring into the pocket on top just bolts on. Pop it off, a little finessing with a hammer to reshape it, spin it around backwards and bolt it back on.
I'm blowing my whole front end apart next week...I'll get pics of how I did it.

That would be much appreciated.
