If your using vgt turbos and not huge nozzles spartan tuning actually works pretty well. 310 tune was one of the best tunes of all time back in the day

I have an h and s tuner. I am thinking of going with kem tunes. What kind of mpg's are you guys seeing with the 345 tune? I don't want to race it, just get better mpg's. Thanks in advance.

shifting was a tad better on my 345.. but my gearhead race pulls WAYY harder. and zero smoke. 345 feels maybe a tad stronger on the bottom. but no comparison from 30 up power wise. I was seeing better mpgs on 345 too

That's weird I would definitely look into different tuners or atleast talk to Mike, I just beat my buddys 03' 6.0 that has 190's and was running IDP's extreme race, he has 31's and I have 35's on my truck and running kem 210 lol! We went from 30-70 and stayed about even then I pulled on him up to 100.

pretty close to mike actually. just my personally experience. maybe it's my truck. my 345 wasnt wicked slow. I pulled on a 6.0 with 190s and a stock turbo w/ IDP tunes. but two of our other shop 6.0s would spank my 345.

I've been DD 345 for a long while now, I have 0 complaints. I've had it a the track and drivin it in the road normal. I would say that the truck at the track starts pretty hard and just doesn't stop pulling until you let off the throttle. As far as gas mileage, that is going to vary from truck and person, I personally get 13-16 around town and 17-22.5 on the hwy. what's not to like. I highly recommend it to anyone. well, I actually have 1 complaint, which has nothing to do with mike or KEM and that when you install the 345 it seems to take my tranny a long time to "learn" the 3/5 shift properly. Usually about 30-40 miles. But that's it. Other than that it's a top notch tune that is versatile.

From the different tunes I have ran 345 is second to none mileage wise. And on a happy note the 210 tune is the smoothest tune I have ran. But the new 300HD is what I have DDing lately and my mileage is terrible. I kinda think that the quality of fuel in my area is sub par at the moment. Every diesel driver in the area I talk to says there mileage has suffered lately, and we should be on summer grade fuel now which should actually improve it. I'm kinda scratching my head?

The 300 HD tune is most defiantly a horrible tune fuel mileage wise! But surprisingly enough a very potent hot rod tune. Not for someone that is on a fuel budget though! LOL!! The H&S canned tunes in general are nice driving tunes.

Yea and to the op keep us updated, because I'm about to go to a bigger tune and was looking at the 345, I would rather not spend $250 and get these results.

don't bother w/ the 345. If you want a fast tune go w/ gearhead or innovative. I will be goign w/ gearhead tuning in the near future and possibly get dyno tuned at innovative after MPD does my build

When I first got the KEM 345 tune I liked it but it wouldn't produce at the track like the Spartan 310v8 did. It drove good but wasn't as strong as the 310v8 I had.

So I contacted Mike and he wrote me a custom tune. I wanted more still, so he wrote me tune that I run now and it is much stronger then any other tune I have ran(I've only ran Spartan and KEM). I haven't ran it at the track but going by my data logs it is producing some impressive numbers. But gets hot fast with my stock turbos.

I am actually lucky enough to have the kem 345 on my dash daq with all of my spartan tunes. I still have the old software. 345 is the ultimate street tune. Spartan 310 is the ultimate race tune. I would hate to update mine and lose these tunes.

So to those of u who have ran KEM and spartan would u update ur DD and lose your KEM for new spartan tunes?

I took the chance and updated Spartan and lost KEMs tunes. At first I was sick because I liked the shifting of the 345 soooo good and the power was close to the 310 tune. Butttt that was before I put traction bars on, now the Spartan 310 shifts great almost like the 210 tune. It is unbelieveable the difference bars make it the shifting. The only thing I hate now about not having the 345 is that is was a great all around tune and was great for towing so I never had to swap tunes. The 310 tune gets my coolant a little too hot for towing.

Yeah I have a 7.4 mile commute to work thankfully or I'd have already went back to the 345 but that new HD is a really nice driving tune and the top end is very nice imho.

Has anyone compared the 310 to gearheads hot street or race tunes?

I have never ran them in the same truck, but I have the 310 on a local truck here that is identical to my truck and it doesnt run NEARLY as strong as my hot street tune does, not to mention its a lot more smokey.

I have ran both of them and gearheads tunes are much stronger but my 345 was a lot faster than the 310.
