Well, I have to say, what ever "programming" is on this truck SUCKS!!!!!!!! Not it low power terms, it's just horrible!!! It is like someone let a toddler loose on EFI Live with a box of crayons and a squeaky hammer!!! Throttle is way too sensitive, seems to jump RPMs going down the road (might be the sensitive throttle). The tranny shifting is laughable.... Goes though first three gears fast, hangs on 4 til 55mph then ramps through the rest if the gears at the same time.

And worst of all, I've been through 3 tanks of fuel.... Average 13.8mpg with a light foot!!! There is no way a deleted and tuned stock tire truck should be that low!!! Looks like a DashDaq just moved way up the list!!!!

Your MPG looks about right IMO... They are not great on fuel. I'm averaging around 15mpg with mostly 55-60 mph cruising to work on my deleted truck. Was around 17-17.5 in the late summer. So don't expect much more MPG city driving...

Most 6.4's I've ever owned and others that I've been around do not get good mileage. I've had four 6.4 trucks and I've never had one that got much more than 16-17mpg on all interstate with 13-15mpg normal driving. And towing I've averaged as low as 8mpg.

Btw these were all deleted tuned trucks. Probably has more to do with how you drive and how fast you normally cruise. But I know lots of people who complain about 6.4 mileage, tuned and stock. The best mileage truck I've ever owned was a 6.0.

mine does 16-18 on the highway... I'm plenty happy with a 9500lb truck w/ a service body getting that kind of mileage

My thing about 6.4's is that if they get 13-17mpg while having the best mix of power, comfort, and reliability out of any other vehicle? sign me up!

That's why I own two of them. I don't buy a 8000# truck for economy. I've got an f150 to drive when I'm feeling cheap.

If oasis does not show a new short block in it's history, set aside $10k for one. Only a few make it over 150k -165k miles before needing a new engine.

And that's a $20k truck at best.

I'm just over 180k with mine. Replaced the radiator at 153k. Been tuned and deleted since 139k, the day I bought it last October

People that say they don't want at minimum decent fuel mileage IMHO are 1 of 3 things. 1) Stupid 2) Joking or 3) Have more money than they know what to do with LOL. That being said after this latest round of snow we just received, and my wife driving my SD to work left me with 2 choices. 1) Drive my OBS f-250 or my 94 escort(work car) I opted to drive the obs LOL. This was the first time I've drivin my OBS in heavy snow since I have owned a SD (since 05). I would much rather been in my 8000#+ SD regardless of fuel economy LOL.

I don't have disposable money for fuel. And I believe that I am not stupid or joking. I have supertuty truck because I use them for a truck not a commuter like the majority of owners. I buy superduty because they are built better heavier and nicer. If I wanted fuel economy I would buy a duramax and if I was worried about price I would buy a dodge. I buy a truck because its what I need and want, fuel economy is great but not if you have to buy an inferior truck to obtain it. BTW, I said all my 6.4 trucks have been tuned and deleted. The only truck I owned that I didn't was my 6.7 because it gets decent mileage and had good enough power.

That being said IMHO, anyone who buys a 8000# diesel truck and complains because it uses more fuel than their toyota is 1 of 1 thing; a moron. And I get tired of everyone looking at the little screen on the dash and believeing that when it says they are getting 20mpg, that its correct. Idk how many people I talk to who base their mileage statements off the in-dash lie-meter!

Thing with that, even if I had an abundance of cash, stopping to fill up sucks lol.

I'd say a good 75%. I know it always makes me happy cruising down the highway seeing the computer saying 19-20 MPG. Then I stop and fuel up and hand calc and its more like 14-15MPG makes me wanna bang my head on the pump station LOL
