Hey guys. Currently in the decision making of my lift. I narrowed tit to two brands. Mcgaughys and icon. Which rides better and which is the best bang for my buck. It seems like mcguaghys comes with some better stuff and is cheaper. Any inputs are helpful. Looking at either a 4.5 icon with a 1inch spacer or a mcguaghys 6 inch. Plan on putting 22x10 af with 37s.

Never had an issue with Icon products, and I actually use my trucks off-road.

I have the Mcgaughy's 8" 4 link kit pushed to 10", running Fox reservoir shocks, it's a good kit, but could be better. As far as all of the hard parts, they are top notch, I would have rather that they used a multi-rate/progressive rate coil spring, but as is it still rides a bit better in the front than stock, probably would be even better if I had just left it at 8" also, but that's my fault. I can't comment on the rear lift for their 6" kit, but should be just a larger block. I honestly chose this lift because I liked the way it looked and it would do the job for what I use my truck for. I could have spent more and went better or even cheaper and bought something like a rough country, but for the money I'm still happy with my purchase and it'll give me something to tinker with as I get it dialed in to exactly where I want it.

Honestly if I were only going around 6" and buying purely based on ride quality and not looking at aesthetics, I would probably have went with the Icon lift.

I wouldn't touch a Mcguaghy kit...I saw a lot of them at SEMA and they are full of cheap grade 5 hardware and seen a couple actually riding on their bumpstops in the parking lot....LOL

I would go with Icon.

Icon all day. Id highly recommend Fox shocks though. I package 95% of my Icon kits with Fox shocks, you get more for your money, and I feel the shocks are better quality.

Let me know if you need help building the right kit for you.

I won't say what you did or didn't see, but my lift is full of grade 10.9 & grade 8 hardware, and is no where near the bump stops.

I was just wondering cuz I was thinking of getting a cheaper mcgaughys kit and balling out on some nice 2.5 fox shocks or nice shocks. Just getting some reviews of each lift and it seems like icon is the best to go with

Carli if you want a 2.5 or 4.5 inch lift, there really is no comparison for off-road performance. For heights above that, Icon for sure. I've had both now, and Carli's shock tuning is just ahead of the rest.

I have done ICON kits and FTS Kits, and see a handful of carli kits. all three are super high quality. nice part about FTS is that it is a completely custom built to order setup. their 2.5 remote res shocks are nice AF too. but icon stuff is smooth as butter as well. depends on what you want to do with it, what your budget looks like and how big you want to go!

Well I would like to be around 2-2500. Just want to be high enough to clear 22x10 af on 37x13.50. Heard a 4.5 could get the job done with some trimming and mods on the bumper bracket

Man u have me interested in a carli suspension. apples to apples which one is better icon or carli.

Icon stopped making their ford superduty kits any better. They focus on the f150s, toyota stuff etc more. Carli is still develops new things for us and do way more testing. And I mean they Test their stuff, to the brink of failure.

With Carli it all depends on the shocks, but at least a grand more for a fox 2.0 setup. Carli custom tunes the shocks, and yes, it's worth it.
