and I call BS.. show me receipts

Seriously? You want me to keep my receipts for oil?

Another poster said it sounds like the 15w40 price. I don't even know.where to start. If you at paying 20/gallon for conventional oil, much less on sale, you must shop the most expensive store on the planet.

O'Reilly prices Mobil1 at 29.99/gal. Normal everyday price. They do a sale and I have them.call me and I go buy whatever they have. Usually about ten gals. Why would I make **** up.about motor oil.

Was not trying to call you out dude, it was only meant as a question. 20 a gallon is a normal price for mobil 15w-40 around here. No reason to get mad. the best I have gotten myself, on sale, was 25 for the valvoline 5w-40.

No YOU said are you sure it wasn't the 15w40 price. Since I've never used it, it would be impossible for me to know or even accidentally know that or.substitute it errantly for the price of the oil we are discussing. There have been 5 different brands of oil in my truck.

Pennzoil 15-40-go ahead, laugh. Made it to 245k miles on this oil. No repairs.
Motorcraft15-40-one oil change. Unremarkable oil.
Mobil1 tdt 5w-40-added at 248k miles. Never plugged my truck in again. Idle quieted down. Great oil. Parts store notifies me of sales.
Valvoline5w-40extreme blue(Cummins blue was the name on my bottles) ran it, didn't see it to be a Good as Mobil 1
Chevron Delo 400-another great oil. If I was short on.cash or synthetic mobil1 was unavailable, I'd run this oil. It's pure boss in a bottle. No bs. It's what rotella THINKS it is.

One more thing, I'm not mad, but I'm not mistaken on the oil I bought or how much it cost. If it was more than 25/gal on sale for mobil1 I'd buy valvoline or delo 400. Simple as that.

I get it for 19.99 a gallon @oreillyauto when they have a sale. I had a big leak so I've been dumping delo 400 in. The Mobil1 used to.sell under the Delvac Full Syn name a few years ago. It's a great oil. I prefer it to the Cummins blue(valvoline extreme 5w40)

Their filter is great too.

I found Mobil 1 at Wallymart for 27ish a gallon, recently switced to the valvoline blue syn as you mentioned for 29 a gallon.

Both are great oils. I noticed a big difference in idle quality as well as the truck performing better all the way to 3k mile OCI compared to the CAT 15w40 dino I was running.

My truck ran fine with Pennzoil and a 100hp single pos chip for 245k. I plugged it in during t500 the winter and got pretty horrible mileage. I couldnt find it anymore. So I went to motorcraft at a forum members request. It ran but just seemed rough. Put that Mobil 1 in and went "whoa, this is different oil." Got cold two months later and the cold weather performance sold me on it.

Thats is the biggest difference I saw from switching. Idle quality, before the truck had a chunk to it.

Switched to the mobil1 and it seemed so much quieter. Even the exhaust note seemed a bit tamer.

The other seller for me at the time (summer) was when it came near my OCI the truck didnt seem to change performance wise. With the CAT dino I could tell at 2500 miles that she was due for an oil change....

Now with the temps in the high 30s to low 40s Ive started the rig plugged in and not. To be honest the cold oil seems to run better as it slows my injectors down enough and idles smoother then a stock obs.

I plug it in so I can fire it up eat a piece of toast and get on the hwy (Im not a morning person LOL)

This OCI is a back to back test on Mobil 1 vs Valvoline Blue both 5w40 syn. To be honest I cant tell a difference between the 2 oils. Might just be me but I think the mobil 1 might have been better. Its just easier for me to get the valvoline blue. Its stupid how you cant order neither oil in a 5 gallon bucket. That would make life so much easier....
Id like to try Schaffers next.

I don't see any reason to go beyond the mobil1. It's the best you can get. I'm a bad spokesperson however as I've never ran anything in the way of hpo mods or huge injectors. 175/100s are the biggest I've used. Are hybrids harder or easier on oil, or no.difference? Will the srp1 beat my oil up bad?

I'm in the process of pulling my motor as we speak, to replace all the seals, oil pan, lpop, injectors, and give it a silver paint job to make oil leaks easier to find in the future. If the Lincoln wouldn't have ate another wax tstat I'd have the powerstroke out but I drive the car so it gets first dibs on wrenching. If it could have wanted a week, my stainless part from jaguar would be here. All jags parts are Al or SS and Ford's are plastic, big shocker. I know this isn't the right thread for this but a ss tstat and Al housing from jag is 68 dollars. Wax tstat and plastic housing is 149 from Ford. Jewball bastardo$.

Ty, I have a 2002 LS V8, I am having the same issue. You wouldn't happen to have a PN for those two parts, would you?

Thats retarded.

I got a buddy who works for Ford and the pricing on stuff is out there. I swear they just hold up a part name, everyone throws in a guess number and a 4 year old pulls it out of a hat.

That being said, Gen3 or twin pumps in my opinion would be hard on oil yes. It says I can go 5k OCI on the jug but I probably will stick to 3k..

Thats why I painted mine yellow LOL

I'll see if I can get em. The tstat was the holdup. Said it wouldn't ship for two weeks. The guys on the Lincoln forum told me to go through rockauto(I'm not recommending this link for powerstroke parts that our sponsors sell) as they sell stainless tstats for the s-type 4.0 that are the same for 4bucks! On sale. I'd check it out Andy because everybody on those sites uses that stuff with great results.
