I posted the video of the 500k mile truck, and the cumminGs boys still weren't satisfied. "That's only 1 truck," "We'll see how it holds up in 10 years" blah blah blah... never enough.

Keep in mind that guy is a hotshot driver. I normal person will put maybe 20k on there car in a year. I don't think these trucks will have any problems going 10 years and being high mileage vehicles. Don't get me wrong on Cummins I think there great engine's you will just never see me driving a dodge they just fall apart.

I completely understand. It's also "only one" truck because there are probably only a handful in the entire country with that many miles already.

Here's some pics of the supposed 675k mile 6.7PS that likely had a valve drop...

The tech said the other cylinders all still had their cross hatching in them and looked perfect.

If my truck had that kind of miles on it and the motor blew up I would be pretty dang proud of it for lasting as long as it did.

In this day and age, a first time venture by ford to manufacture the 6.7 has paid off dividends if more and more of these high mileage trucks keep popping up. Hate to admit it but it has me thinking about taking a trip to the bank:poke:

Im thinking the hotshot.driver runs those flares because mega miling rusts your truck out in a hurry. My 00 rusted the rear wheelwells in 4 years at 125k miles. At 6years and 225k another set. Now at 265 Im reskinning the box, AGAIN. This time Im bedlining the rear of the panels and running flares.

Looked around a bit inspired by this thread and the most Ive done was my 07 lbz, at 20mos after purchase it was at 140kmiles. Thats a pittance compared to this red 6.7. Im really hoping my next work truck can be a 6.7. My 12dmax is under 60k so its.gonna.be a while.

FWIW 71k on mine, had a cracked radiator end tank, and some seal in the vacuum pump? leaked oil everywhere. other than that... absolutly flawless. Chews up tires tho.
