Exactly what I said was going to happen did happen. The man stated he had enough money for a 120 - 150k most are 2011 to 2012 and know one listen to what he was saying. Then the tread took off talking about Tunes and Tuners I'm sure he knows nothing about.
Jeremiah I am sure you will be happy with the 2011 or the 2012 as Gary stated earlier. If you have any questions you should contact the sponsors like Mike from No Limit or Morgan from Midwest or Jared from River City they will be more than happy to help you with your upgrades or any questions you have.

Sorry I jumped you dseitler. I thought you were saying "here we go" in reply to me saying my dad was bummed about fuel mileage comparing the 15 to the 11.

As far as a stock truck goes I think an 11, 12, or 13 will be great even with 150k on it. If it was naintained it should be g2g.

You won't be disappointed. My last truck was an '02 7.3 and my '13 is light years ahead of that. Yes there is some turbo lag, but it will out pull the 7.3 hands down. Go for the newest one you can afford. There was some valve and turbo issues early on, but it would most likely have been repaired with that amount of mileage.

Maybe YOU need to pay attention. The guy mentioned he will prob eventually change the turbo, his sig currently shows he drives a tuned 7.3 So I think he knows about tuners and what we are talking about. What makes you think he isn't going to tune his 6.7? especially when he said he will prob eventually upgrade the turbo? These threads always get off topic. Always, usually from posts like yours. It turns into a big pissing match. Its really ridiculous.

Be aware of the lag and you will also miss the freight train low rpm pull of the 7.3. I also just switched from a Dp tuner tuned 7.3 and the tuned 2015 6.7 is a lag meister compared to it. My 7.3 had instant throttle response with very little lag. If you do tune your 6.7 go with innovative they have about 1/3 the lag that pip does and shifting is way better too. The 6.7 is a mid-range monster though and obviously makes way more power. Just takes a little getting used to how the power comes on. Definitely get a 15 better turbo and a little more power. All the tuners say the 15 is the one to get. The 11-14 eat turbos but if you are gonna change the turbo anyway then maybe it doesn't matter. They also have the 11-14 tuning dialed in compared to the 15.

Look into BD's throttle sensitivity module. My truck with NO tuning, gets out of the hole faster than my tuned 7.3 did.

Did you see what Jeremiah has for mods? His truck is a honest 475rwhp and maybe more like 500.

I think my dads pulled pretty nice. The 11. His 15, im not too impressed. Im not sure if its his driving or what. Seems nutless down low. Like kinda bad. He thinks my 14 dmax cclb pulled way harder.

Im definitely not the 6.7 guru though lol. Just trying to get a feel for it. I suppose comparisons to other platforms, ie a 7.3, are totally subjective.

I think they lag more for emission purposes (smoke less, so less regens.)

I purchased this, and must say it's AMAZING. It Reprogram the pedal assembly. The lag is GONE.

I bought it from Strictly diesel. They haven't put it on their site yet. Call or email Dennis.

no compareson. Nothing tows like a 6.7... nothing.

Just get used to towing stupid amounts of weight and setting the cruise control and enjoying a conversation with the person next to you.

There are a few small issues like fuel tank capacity, and rear springs being a little light, but overall these things are great. Even the stock 2011-14 turbo works great towing.

the 11-14 setup is beast-mode for towing

I've had the privilege to be around a lot of 6.7's, including a lot of 11's

my buddy has an EARLY Job 1 that has had the absolute tar beat out of it. It ran the old high boost H&S files for a long time. Then Matt's tunes for the rest of the time.

That thing has pulled heaven and earth back and forth to North Dakota, and ALWAYS on the highest power level. It's never had a pyrometer in it.

The old Job 1 turbo FINALLY started to let go, but like the true champ that this truck has been, just the ball bearings started to go... no wheel to housing contact, etc.

He slapped a 15 turbo on it, and it's better than ever!

6.7's are the bee's knees

the ONLY ONLY problem with them is they don't fly quite like a 6.4 ;)

I find it funny how innovative is starting to receive all the praise, especially on shift quality, when that's all people b**ched about on the 6.4. Not insinuating or trying to start anything, as I run innovative on one of my 6.4s. H &s can tunes on the 6.7 I fool with. Just stating opinion/ observation.

I moved from a higher HP 7.3 to a 6.7...... and I love it.

The new truck is dead nuts quiet, smooth, comfortable, and is perfect for towing.

It takes every bit of my useable towing power on the 7.3L to keep up with the 6.7, and my 7.3 hit just under 500 rwhp on the dyno.

As for lag.... come to high altitude to actually learn what lag is. Going from 5,000 to 9,000ft, I can barely tell any difference on the 6.7. But there's a huge difference on the 7.3. That's lag my friends.

What little delay there is on the 15's, it doesn't bother me or my wife. We aren't trying to yank the axles out from underneath our trailers from a stoplight. It's actually pretty smooth taking off from a stop when there's a load behind you. And at speed, the lag is about the same as the 7.3 at lower elevations. Get up in the mountains, and the 6.7 will light up first.

The most understated differences between the two is MAINTENANCE. A 7.3 pretty much keep the oil good and fuel tank full, and drive it until the wheels fall off. Forget to mess with the coolant? That's ok it'll still run another 300K. Forget to change the fuel filter? That's ok you can drive it another 10,000 miles. Accidentally poured oil in the fuel tank? Drive it like you stole it.

That's not true with the 6.7. It's a MUST that you have to follow the maintenance outlined in the owners manual to the letter, and never skip anything. Proper maintenance will give you the best experience and maximize the longevity. Make sure you are getting good diesel fuel too, or you'll have problems. It's just a fact of life.

Once you realize that aspect, it's actually pretty easy to maintain. Plenty of 6.7's go well over 100K or 200K miles with nothing more than maintenance.

There any perceived benefit to a frame mounted fuel pump with pre and post filtration? Take some strain off the cp4 and filter better/remove water?

I freak about filtration on those hpfps they seem fragile. I lost two in duramaxes. Never had a powerstroke with one yet.

What kind are you running?

Its a bit different on a turd heui. That IS your fuel pump. And the filter is so awesome that everybody tosses it as soon as they can.

You seem to forget I dont have a 6.7. I dont know where anything is at under the hood, nor do have any frame of reference. I know like 6 people who have them. Ive driven 2.

Since its that obvious, what pump/filter setup are you using?
