I've been on the forums for quite some time just never posted much, but I guess now is the time to introduce my build that is in its final stages.
Back in September I thought I had blown head gaskets so I got some fresh heads, studs, and injectors to throw in while it was all apart. Turns out it wasn't the gaskets, I actually had a crack in the cylinder wall of #3
After talking to Johnathan at No Limit Tuning and Design about all the new stuff he was coming out with and discussing options on the motor we ended up with the build list below.
Johnathan(BDP Tuner) and the guys at No Limit Tuning and Design have been awesome with letting my be involved with the build and I enjoy testing new products for them.
*****also I was told Johnathan has been in touch with garrett about his new shop becoming a site sponsor so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by posting his stuff
The build list includes:
-Fresh motor with peened forged rods
-Custom modified pistons by NLTD
-Modified Oil pickup
-Fresh heads with ARP's and Comp springs
-Rosewood 238/100's
-T500 HPOP
-NLTD S468 Turbo Kit with stainless uppies and intercooler piping and 3in anodized intake manifolds
-NLTD Regulated return fuel system with a walbro pump
-NLTD Fuel Sump
-BTS Transmission
-Johnathan's Custom tunes on my TS Chip. Hopefully controlled by the new dashdaq instead of a switch soon
We're braking the new motor in right now and working out all the bugs. In the next couple of weeks we'll put it on the dyno and tune it. Shooting for 580-600 with the 238/100's. I know that's a lot for those injectors but an excursion was at the shop a couple weeks ago with same injectors and a 38r and made 570 iirc, so with a bigger turbo and a few more mods I'm confident we will get really close to our goal. Eventually we might put a little spray to it and see what happens
Now for some pics...
Crack in the cyl that started it all
Bare block
Pistons and Rods
Tops of the pistons
S468 mocked up
Pedestal and some of the RR lines
Turbo in and a pic of the manifolds. The manifolds can be anodized any color and the engraving is an option
View of the regulator placement
Billet thermostat housing
HPOP gear cover
Truck it's all going in
