Hours worth of work makes me very happy. Trans out and truck started with no noises. Now flex plate or converter. That is the question.

To say that's great news would be an understatement. I'm blown away by your pace on the project.

Woohoo!!! *** YEAH!! Not motor is good. Flex plate and converter, or even the entire trans is way better then a crank and/or rod issue!!

Thanks guys!! No joke just under an hour by myself. I was determined. Zero music and zero beer. Flex plate looks fine, converter has zero marks and has the exact same **** hair of play compared to the converter I have next to it. Bell housing has zero marks. Only thing abnormal I see is some rubber from the rear main. Very little but that is the only odd thing I see.

Rear main sure as hell shouldn't look like that.

Sun coast flex doesn't use the spacer. Its built in. I'm thinking vibration caused that. Gonna get a new seal. Install stocker and see what happens.

Looks like the seal wasn't in far enough. I really wouldn't worry about the seal right now. It's not hurt. My guess is that the converter has something very wrong inside it or the transmission. The flexplate is 1/4" thick and no way it's broke. It's not physically contacting anything so there must be something further on down the line. I mean you did start it with the suncoast flexplate still on and the noise wasn't there. That tells me it's something that wasn't hooked up when you started it... Only other thing you changed was the converter. I'd take a shot and try one of your spares. I've had 4r's break converters and make terrible noises like that but still work just fine.

Flexplate wouldn't screw up the seal with or without the spacer, its not like it turns independently. It almost has to be in the converter.... good luck with it man, got my fingers crossed for you!!!
