Oh I don't doubt that 3.55s absolutely suck for towing. Its just not what those gears were intended for. I was just giving my experience with the 3.73s with 80+ mph over several hours.

I thought about maybe going to a higher gear but so far my 3:73s seem perfect with my 35s. At 77 mph I'm turning right at 1850 rpm which is where I get my better mileage. It tows awesome and drives great

I wouldn't go with 4:30s and 35s. I hold around 6lbs of boost at 65-70 on flat ground with 4:10's and 35's.

No 3.73-4.10 with 35's. I honestly wouldn't go 4.10 unless you tow really heavy or had a non vgt setup.

with a 6.4 , the spool is so early, 3:73 and 35's is plenty. 4:10's may be optimum for towing but they will hurt mileage.

Agreed. Only reason I would go 4.10-4.30 would be 35-37" tire and towing heavy or having a non vgt turbo setup. Ryan's truck would be mucho happier with 4.30 or 4.56's. Make it a totally different animal.

i love my 3.73's. i run hard on the highway, doesnt run too high RPM's, still tows great, i think its a great gear for 35s. does great unloaded or loaded. fast or slow.

3:73's and 35s are simply the best of both worlds. the only small benefit i see with 3:55s is the slight mileage increase on hwy trips.

Maybe if its flat lol. Get into some hills and the truck with 3.55's is gonna use more motor to get up a hill vs. a truck with 4.10's probably a small amount obviously weight has a big factor in that too. What is a 3.55 gear after you factor in the 35" tire? And what's a 4.10 after the 35's are factored in. I ran 33's on my 97 dodge with only a 4 speed and a cummins in it, 60 was nice speed to cruise at but it had 1 less gear and the gear ratio's in a 47re are completely different i'm sure and the 12v cummins is a lot different.

Well i think we can all agree no one bought a 6.4 to get amazing fuel mileage, but i just want it to perform like it did with the 33's on it, plus it will make life easier on the transmission. I honestly haven't hand calculated my fuel since i deleted my dpf back in january. I know its not good maybe around 10mpg, but its always in tow/haul mode and i'm driving around town stop and go, but i coast to stop signs and stop lights and go easy when the light turns green like 15-1800rpm shifts with a trailer behind it.

My truck came with them stock. I'd love to have 3:73's and 35's. Not much of a change from my 4:10's but I honestly think 3:73's are a great all around ratio. Especially with stock to 35's

then switch back to 33's, start another thread, and/or quit derailing this one

Not much to add. Have to send a handful of convertors back. 3 DPCs including the one in the truck and 2 precisions. Trans is now out and at the builder to make sure everything is all set.

I have Cory at A&J trans doing my trans work. I did the motor and turbo setup myself and c tech did all the machining to the block and heads.
