Why is it a shock? that is typically where these trans fail.

being a stock converter it will soak up a pile of the "shock". .
that being said-i have twisted my billet input with a precision converter and red alto clutches. street driving only...
I'm thinking with stock fuel a decent tranny will hold up fine at my power level.
100 % agreed.
i was more responding to RSK because inputs last a lot longer in a stock application than with a good TC and harder clutches.
hit up Morgan @ Midwest Diesel. He just did mine and i would say its close to the favorite mod so far...and that is after chewing thru a "built" trans from someone else. a good converter is half the battle also...
and btw i'm freaking jealous of the times you can pull with your truck!
I got my elite tranny in and have about 500 miles so far an all I can say is wow. This thing feels like a whole new truck. I'm anxious to see what kind of times it runs now.
