Trying to throw together a rough parts list. 800hp is the max that I would go, it will most likely be around 600. What parts should I get to build my trans? I dont want to pay 6-7k for a complete trans, I plan on buying the parts and building it myself.

I got everything from elite to make a stage 4 trans and did it myself for a good price. It has extra clutches and everything is billet.

So you just bought everything they had for sale on the website? All the billet parts and the comp kit? About $3500? Is there anything else you need besides fluid and filter? I'm not a transmission guy, I just want to buy the parts a little at a time and have someone put it together.

Get the elite rebuild, suncoast doesn't include machined parts to add more clutches.. Ask me how i know.

I would also recommend the Elite kits and billet parts. I planned on the same power level with mine and got everything billet besides the output.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the sun coast kit has thinner clutches allowing it to fit more where the clutches in the elite kit are thicker so machined down parts are necessary. I would rather have thicker clutches.
Can someone confirm this?

I'm not exactly sure. I know elite use to sell sun coast stuff...not sure if they still do. But I did notice that each others rebuild kit is the same price. Just kinda makes me wonder a little...idk

I put a trans together recently with the elite comp kit and I don't recall seeing any alto clutches....

They all use pretty much the same parts. What it all boils down to is how the trans is built using those parts. Personally... I see nothing wrong with the suncoast kit. If someone had one and their trans didn't last....they probably should have had someone build the it then.
