Yeah look in the 6L trans rebuild kits. It says it right there. They use alto in the direct and forward and everything else is raybestos.

Don't have a dog in this conversation, but just some food for thought...Elite supports this site, and supports this brand like very few others.

How would a rebuilt 5r hold up to higher than just tuned power levels with the ede kit...without billet shafts?

I have the suncoast iron PAC 3 rebuild kit in mine. Biggest POS. I think I got 15,000 miles out of this trans around 530hp for the first 12,000 miles. None of the clutches were raybestos, all were alto's.

Morgan...did you choose the Alto's over the raybestos when you got the kit? Just wondering cause suncoast does offer the raybestos ones also. Or did suncoast screw up and send you the wrong ones? What do you have for a trans now? My trans has the old suncoast super duty rebuilt kit and billet input. Nearly 20k miles and still going.

im also wondering if billet shafts are a must? reading about them, i am not totally convinced that they are necessary, but then again i have never done anything major/know what is a must and what is just a waste of money.

when i did my trans we went with the iron packs 3 clutches from Sun coast, as well as billet shafts, and converter. So far real happy with the set up...have to see how the compounds get along with it though

For 800hp I would recommend the comp clutch kit from Elite and Full Billet internals. If you're interested in a price on this stuff, let me know.

As far as Elite vs Suncoast for clutches, my opinion is that Elite's stuff is proven time and time again.

Throw in my modded DD solenoid as well with the comp kit and some billet pieces, I'd say you'd have a trans with the rights ingredients to hold some power.
