Im looking to level out my 01 f250 2wd, ive seen at the mini springs but thats just not what im looking for. What the best brands/ best way of leveling my truck and keeping the factory ride? Any advice is much appreciated.
I used some coil spacers from fleabay, I think they were like 60$, I cant remember. It was a real PITA to get aligned, local heavy duty truck shop couldn't get it aligned but I think goodyear got it pretty damn close if I'm remembering correctly. I ran it for ~20k miles and I didn't encounter any problems. Ride really wasn't too bad but I did do shocks at the same time so I can't really speak for that
Ok then, you will need coil spacers, new shocks(if you want decent travel), and about 250.00 worth of alignment. When you install the spacers, if you want to save some time down the road, you will need to make sure that there is enough room between the spindle and the steering nuckle on the top. Some people have had to grind material out there so that the truck can be brought into allignment.
You will also need to check the travel on your shocks. I wasn't able to find shocks that had enough travel upward to allow the spring to compress to the bump stop. If this is the case for you, then you will need to extend your bump stops down to prevent your shocks from over compressing. You could also use the stock shocks but you will NEED to put in limit straps if you go off road to prevent the shocks from over extending.
As far as a spacer kit, I used the poly spacers from ready lift. Daystar makes some too. There is also a manufacturer out there that makes aluminum spacers, but I haven't heard much feedback on them.
Mine wasn't perfectly level with the 2 inch spacers but it was enough for me. Definately looks better than factory, however you should know that the ride will NOT be as good as stock. It isn't horrible, but it isn't as smooth.
What kinda shocks did you go with?
