How long ago was that?

Right know I still believe that they are too smoky for the street for a single VGT. Maybe a NON- VGT or compounds would do it. The VGT I'm running seems good but I think it's still too much injector. The new one I have coming maybe a perfect match for the 225 injectors for daily street use and less then stock smoke, on full race fuel tune.

My 225/100's with my VGT-SS are not smokey at all, when I floor it it smokes but then SS cleans it up nicely. I think the SS is. 64.7mm iirc. Tuning is key in any setup.

That 4r makes me jelly... I want one sooo bad lol. My 308k mile 7.3 4r shifts more consistently than my built 5r... Can mat that thing from any speed and it knows what to do... Can't say that about any 5r LOL

/end rant

when your 5r doesnt know what to do, 9 times out of 10 its user error. you werent sure what you were doing lol.
i think it was 2 years ago everyone was worried about 190s on the street lol. honestly theres no need for all that fuel on the street with a 6.0. i have 205s on my tow truck and it yanks. it doesnt smoke at all though lol, its also flowing over 140lb/min so it cant lol. i wanna see what kind of timing that guy with 430s is running with 150% nozzles. i remember years ago testing some hybrids for elite when they first came out with bodies, had to have a custom ficm to get enough timing out of it to empty the bodies and it blew the degas bottle cap off and dented my hood hahaha. that was the end of that.
i run 410cc on my drag truck.

LOL my 305's can be driven around awesome with no smoke to a light haze. Get into it hard and it smokes like a train, but 99% of the time I am driving it, it is not smoking... I don't think it matters how big the setup is, if it's done properly and matched well it won't be too smokey

it matters. ive had so many setups. theres just alot more going on then most people admit or see. and anyone who has been around knows that lol. if you wanna actually use your truck, then 190s are as big as you can go. and thats pushing it. they are still gonna build heat towing a trailer. in overdrive i have a hell of a time with my setup towing at 55mph. and i havent seen many setups that spool this quick.

i put down 1100hp with 265cc hybrids and 100% nozzles. running 10s consistently. i just dont understand why there is suddenly a need for these rediculous injectors. its going to hurt us more than anything if we have a bunch of guys running around with no icp smoking there buddys out. and if thats not it, where are the results.

sorry for the derail.

I don't thing anyone will be unhappy about a derail by someone who has the kind of experience that you have with the 6.0. I understand what your are saying about 190s on the street. Even the 155/100s I had could get smokey. The 185/70s were more controllable. I would have to agree that ICP is far more important than the quantity of fuel that is used. I doesn't matter how much fuel you have, if you don't have enough icp to atomize it.

I don't really have a dog in the fight about the 5r vs 4r, but as I see it, either the older vets are too stubborn to admit when something works better for a racing application OR they actually know what to do to make their transmission run for them. I'm inclined to think the latter of the two is most likely the case. I know for a street setup, I wouldn't want to be giving up any extra gears. Just my observations.

Also to piggy back on the 190s, I can completely agree with them being about the limit unless the air flow is increased big time.

Good info. I think the big conventionals have tons of potential WITH proper ICP. Until then with super low icp it is far less than ideal.

Yes sir, I think it would be better to run hybrid injectors if you're having trouble maintaining ICP with larger conventionals. I think it's safe to say that "complete combustion" is the key to running clean and cool, and ICP is just one of the pieces to making that happen. I would love to see the kind of power a 6.0 with 300+cc conventionals would put down with 4000+ psi of ICP.

Well Craig is working on a dual pump setup for my truck now. I really think that with proper icp and these 305's it will run awesome. I mean it runs ok now, but yes, it's hot and smokier than it should be due to the low icp

Its insane. Massive conventionals FTW. I have been considering dyno'ing the hurt motor to see if I can pull 700hp out of it. It moves with the bigger housing.
