younger1993 ran the 4088r (ballbearing version of the 4088) with divided up pipes and was an absolute dog with 210cc injectors with 100% nozzles. Ask him about it, and he'll tell you why he mad LOL

I should have him send it to me and ill throw it on mine and see what happens?

My truck was throwing that 71mm exhaust wheel around like it was a bitch!!!

He was running the .95 divided housing, the gt4088r's have a 77mm diameter wheel, so thats close to what the inducer of the turbine is, so the exducer is around 68mm i believe.

I'd like to see what it would do with the .85 housing.

One setup gone bad doesn't make the turbo bad.. Ive seen that compressor and housing support north of 550 all day

No doubt, never said it didnt make the power, I meant by a dog, that it was super laggy, should have clarified that.

4:22 is the WOT run, I let off at 1800 degrees

sorry bud, I sold it. I got 40% return when I sold that damn thing. I got it to light one time around 3100 rpms, and the biscuits broke loose merging onto the freeway, could never do it again for some reason.

This guy looks sweet, and It looks a good candidate to tow..If you PM Tadd he can help you out. I really wish I had the extra $ to try this one, but unfortunately all my spare $ is heading towards compounds.

thats a big housing... i bet with manifolds and true divided up pipes it would be a different animal. that precision is nice but id be interested to see the backpressure on a 66 turbine.......

I had Matt's true divided up pipes as well. The only difference is the housing.

As for the precision, I would gate it, but from what I see, I don't think Kyle would mind throwing a gate on.

Im already running a 46mm percision gate.

As a update trucks back up and running.

A friend of mine had a ii 66/74 phatshaft. Only problem was it was internal gated, and nothing would line up.

So i had to have my 71mm non gated housing, that was on my 64 machined to fit the 66.

Its back together.the the 66 is only a temporary charger, because i dont have time right now to redo all my piping and gate.

It spools good,me and matt can finish dialing in the truck now. Anyone know what i should gate this 66 to?

with the 71 wheel i doubt there is going to be serious back pressure, what did you have the previously turbo gated to?

Kyle, where and how did you gate your setup before?

Everyone says true divided uppipes are the chit, but if gated...most are only gating one side of the engine.

Wouldn't it be better to gate both sides of the engine, and have the same pressures on both sides?

But, if you tied both up pipes together in the up pipe section, and came off that with a gate...then your back to not having true divided up pipes again.

So....what's the best way to add a gate to the system?

My old setup had a 62/65 internal gate. Although ive never had divided ups.
all the internal gated housing i have at my shop have bleeds for bolth sides.

Ultimately the best way to do it is divided pipes, with a gate on each manifold.

I did have my non gated 64 on my old motor, but never had a issue with bp.

My gate is directly on my collector,on the y pipe i made. Ill upload a picture in the morning.

Dude i was running the 71mm turbine when i destroyed those bellows. I stepped up to a 74.
I had the 64gated to 40ish pounds. But no gate when i blew the bellows.

damn son! i'd keep it at 40psi and see how it does, can always go back and dial it in. If you stepped the wheel up that will help big time.

Well i have to becareful till the gate is 100% right, because this thing still wants to fly by 50psi.
this engine is crazy.
