Im debating switching to either shaeffers 7000 or valvoline extreme blue.

Problem is I have nowhere to buy these up here. Stupid Canada and never having the good stuff.

My truck, while warm, especially after I beat on it will idle in gear rough. The oil is very foamy also...

Do you think Changing to this oil will help me out? I think Im going to try the additive first.. My shop carries Shaffers so Ill get some ordered and do some before and after tests

Just purchased 6 pints of the additive from you Bean, going to give it a whirl first hand to see what you are talking about!

I have a 7.3 that i believe is having an aeration issue, wont idle correctly after you run it hard. For the price of the additive it is worth trying out.

i normally do 2500 miles in winter and 5000 in the summer. because in winter i normally let it warm up a minimum of 20 minutes. and yeah the coldest she has started in without being plugged in is -27* in minnesota. sounded a little pissed off for just a few seconds but smoothed right out after that..

If the truck has an actual mechanical problem like a cracked pickup tube the additive will not fix that. It only helps if the anti-foam sucks in your motor oil.

I don't think I have a cracked pick-up tube. It would run like crap most of the time. Its only when hot and after I romp on it idle goes to hell. Im sure ill just order from you guys, don't feel like placing orders through the company

So according too the article shell t6 isnt bad at all and the best average oil is mobil delvac1 esp ?

Yes and no.
The t6 lost its base number or (stability) quick and yes as I have switched to mobil if money was tight at the time of change.

Delvac performed ok at regular 3-5k changes but the most important fact is long term. It saves money annually to extend drain intervals. With close analysis of course.

My truck is sorta the opposite. When in gear it doesn't idle all that bad, i mean its rough but not really choppy. If i take it out of gear then the idle gets real choppy for a couple seconds.

Also have prolly 4-5k miles on Valvoline premium blue 15w-40 which isn't helping at all. Trying to track down a local place with Schaeffers oil since i pay in cash. May just end up running to Napa and getting Extreme Blue.

If you run dual HPOP's the 9000 will break down to a 30w or less in 1,500 miles. I noticed this with my first sample (BTS Dual HPOP's) with a 3,500 miles change. It was commented on the report "viscosity at 30w" so the next sample was at 1,500 miles with the same results back in 2006. They had no idea why.

I have found it can vary considerable even with duals based on how you drive it. But the shearing effects of the duals is what lead me to finding out that the Moly EP was great for keeping the shearing effects in check. Or you can switch to the 7000 because its additive package is a bit different in the viscoity modifiers area and the closer cold and hot vicsocity numbers of the syn blend require less modifiers that wear faster. But a small bottle of EP does the trick no issues at least for me when I was running the dual stealths.
