A bad injector will most likely not throw a code unless it is absolutely awful. I had four injectors gone-the truck would hardly drive and it didn't set a code. You probably have already checked the basics but:

Fuel pressure, injector contribution balance, ficm main voltage. Then more in depth is pull the valve covers and check for high pressure oil leaks. Another trick is if the miss is at idle you can disconnect the icp pigtail and see if it changes. That will force it to a default setting. You may have a bad icp sensor.

Is the miss consistent? Only when it's cold? Only at idle? Sorry for being disjointed-im tired...

It's cool lol

To check everything you said, what all would I need? I could get the livewire up and running soon, but for contrib wouldn't I need a AE or something?

It's mostly at idle(that I noticed) and while I was backing into a parking spot, it started jumping a little, then later it had a shake while it was idling. I rev'd it to 12, 15 and 2k rpms and I didn't notice it.

It's doing it hot.

I'll try to check for HPO leaks this weekend and the ICP sensor.

Hater, I have an 8" lift for it just sitting on a shelf, and the awful batman stacks are my ticket to SEMA, and not installed on the Ox (thank god) and I will be building the bed right after SEMA

you can check ficm main voltage with the livewire. i have always used IDS to test the injectors. most dealers will help you with some diagnostics for free depending on their workload.

fwiw i have always had injectors issues very soon after a head gasket job or intrusive repairs of any kind LOL i think its oout of spite!

And now, there is a mysterious burning odor. Seems like it's coming from the engine area, more specifically the rear. Smells almost electrical(?) I guess. Couldn't see anything(it was after midnight) so I'll look again in the morning. Coolant level is unchanged and the smell isn't coming from the exhaust. Any ideas?

Did it start after you put the loud pipe on? If it did, make sure you don't have anything touching it, wires, or what have you

what weazel said,,,, another thing to check, check all fluids- specifically the x-case. I had a bronco II back in the day that lost a bearing and blew half the housing off---- it smelled just like electrical,,,,,

I know Mike asked, before things went fubar, I didn't get too in depth. The mid pipe slipped out of the extension so I went in and retorqued everything. I THINK the smell was coming from the sound deadening, which was touching the DP. When I noticed it, I had been hooning on it pretty good and I figure the egts were higher and toasted the deadening. Also, there is something rattling, I don't know what it is, I think it's exhaust, but nothing under there can rattle that easily/quickly.

I use the weld on exhaust hangers with the polyurethane bushings. It does a pretty good job, considering I only have 1 on my entire exhaust system

Let me know how you fix that. The mid pipe and down pipe slip around a lot, which I don't like. In all, the fitment is decent I guess, tail pipe and over axle piece are annoying to keep aligned when I try to tighten everything up.
