Brown Santa left me a present today courtesy of Mike at No Limit Fabrication. It's their 6.4 Cold Air Intake and 6.4 CCV ReRoute Kit. The pictures do not do this Intake justice! The fab quality is top notch and Mike's service is second to none! I ordered these items yesterday afternoon and here they are in my living room today. :redspotdance: Thanks Mike! :toast:

Work has been crazy but finally got the No Limit Fabrication CAI installed. Also got a mild street tune from Eric @ Innovative Diesel Performance. All I can say is WOW! It REALLY woke the truck up! I also forgot what it was like to have the 5R110 shifting so smooth. Seriously hard to believe it is the same slush box.

Note: I actually loaded the tune from Eric and drove the truck prior to installing the No Limit Fabrication CAI. At about 3/4 throttle on a mild street tune, I got the Check Air Cleaner warning on the dash. Popped the hood and sure enough, filter minder was sucked all the way in. This can't be good on the turbos! After the CAI install, no filter minder issues at all, even at full throttle. You can also feel a much crisper throttle response and noticeably stronger acceleration. Never experienced such a difference from just an intake swap. I would not recommend running a performance tune on the 6.4L without an adequate supply of air. And, from what I've read, and now experienced, No Limit delivers the needed air to keep your turbos and your right foot happy. :redspotdance:

The truck will light the tires up from a 30mph roll now and pretty much haze them through 55-60mph. This little truck is already a blast to drive at only 500whp. Can't wait to feel what 600+ feels like. :)

My shorty had around 770-800ish at the wheels and it's just retarded. Couldn't use more than 1/3 of the boost around town. They are fun little go karts when they're that size

I was thinking it's going to be insane! It's still a relatively heavy truck but feels so light and nimble even with 500whp. I couldn't imagine 800 at the wheels. Sounds fun and scary at the same time!

Update: New Shoes!

After not finding what I wanted for custom wheels, at a decent price, I decided to go with my favorite factory wheels for now. However, as with most things, I couldn't leave well enough alone. So, I had two of the 20X8" factory 8 spokes widened to 9.5" to accommodate a 305/50 tire out back. I wanted the optimal contact patch and wear for the wider tires. Toyo Proxes S/T's in 275/55/20 front and 305/50/20 rear. The overall diameter of the tires front/rear are basically the same (32 inches) so they look to be the same size from the side. But once you peer underneath, you can see there is definitely more meat out back. :evil This combo kept the stance of the truck the same which is what I was going for. I will modify the factory wheel tubs a bit and weld them back in to cover the tread. And man, what a difference in traction! Hooks up relatively well now. :)

Very nice! Who did the widening?

Thanks.

Rusty

Thank you sir!

Wheels America www.wheelsamerica.com. They have several locations throughout the U.S. and one happens to be close to me in Buena Park, CA. Only the Dallas, TX location does the actual widening though, so the Buena Park guys shipped them to Dallas and had them widened and shipped back. I liked that they stress and pressure test them after widening to make sure they have the same load rating as the original wheel. They were perfectly true and balanced with no issues. :)

That's looks awesome!

Truck looks great! Definitely a sleeper to those unsuspecting mustangs and camaro's. Looking forward to the build.

Thanks guys!

Funny you mention mustangs and Camaro's 08Strokin because last night I happened to pull up next to a late model Camaro SS at a light leading on to the freeway. We both took off pretty hard (hazing tires) up the on ramp, but in the end, torque rained supreme on the up hill sprint! Got about 2-3 cars out on him before the lanes merged. I took it all the way to pinned needle on the freeway before backing off to a 70mph cruising speed. He showed his disapproval with a near triple digit fly by about a 1/2 mile later. Pretty funny. I tried to get him to go from a 65mph roll about 2 miles later but he wasn't having it. LOL

Thank you for the info. That place in Buena Park is right around the corner from me. I would like to look into getting some SD wheels redrilled for my 8x6.5" OBS truck. Just curious how much it would cost and if it's reasonable.

Hahaha that's good stuff, I love seeing the look on their face when they get spanked by a truck.

No problem! Talk to Louis or Matt there. Both were good to work with. I would imagine they could do what your looking to do.
