You could do that for sure. Nothing from the original fog lights will be needed. Only thing that will need to remain is the wiring harness that operates the lights.

Here are a couple pics of my lights in. First one is the H13 LED headlight kit. Second is with the Q series driving pattern. Kinda hard to see but the combination is REALLY bright. Have the driving pattern Q series pointed way down. I've had them in for a while now just have not been out when it was dark enough to get good pictures.
