Always used axle straps and straps for vehicles here, whether trail rigs or SDs. I check them any time I stop and haven't had issues whether it was an hour or 1000 mile+ trip.

All my straps are rated at 3,333lbs. WLL. I usually hAve 6 for a truck. Overkill but safe.



I've seen tow trucks go through the rims to strap down. Seems safe. And you can strap down any vehicle like that.

As long as you have the anchor points to strap at the wheels it works. I know a lot of off the lot flat deck trailers have few anchor points that will give a good pull for strapping through the wheels
