I don't see the need for it with the file I run. Hottest one. Does it all.

Except tow heavy of course

This is why I saved some money and went with a XRT PRO instead of the Mini Max. I know I'll be driving around in the hottest the 24/7 and the heaviest thing I'll tow will be a trailer full of four wheelers lol.

Sent from a Cummins plant, driving a TDI, wishing it was a Powerstroke

no not yet and I'm not sure there will be a market for mcc in 6.0, it would have to be able to do amazing things to make all us SCT guys change, so for now just 6.4 and 6.7 as of now

I'd switch in an instant for the switch-on-the-fly if I could get the same tunes. That's the only thing I miss about 7.3's.

Well you can get custom tunes using H&S for your 6.0, the problem there is you lose the shift on the fly capabilities, the H&S is more money, and there's only one guy writing tunes for 6.0's on that platform last I knew. SCT was less money and DOZENS of tuning options.

My limited understanding of the shift on the fly for the 6.4's using H&S stuff was it only changed pulse width when you did shift on the fly??? Someone want to add to this? I believe this was using MCC tuning, not sure how it is on the generic stuff.

I would NOT shift on the fly with a 6.0 no matter what and I see no need to do so. Some guys experimented with using an SCT to load a trans tune and then use a shift on the fly module after that (would have to be something that stayed plugged in).

I also believe we had a member here a while back who was going to order something from maybe Hypermax to try that would supposedly do on the fly tune changes etc... I just never saw the point and I don't remember reading anything about it after the initial discussion.

where can you get custom tunes for H&S?

the problem with H&S canned tunes is they do not tune the transmission at all. I love H&S tuners, but I'm running SCT on my 6.0

So is there a tuner that's shift on the fly that adjusts the transmission for a 6.0?

I wanted shift on the fly because my dads mini max is sweet he can tune it from tow- economy- performance with just the push of a button. It's a pain to sit there for 10-15 minutes to wait on another tune to load in so you can tow or race.

I'll re ask the question...

Where can you get custom tunes for h&s tuners?

So is there a tuner that's shift on the fly that adjusts the transmission for a 6.0?

The old bully dog triple dog does if you load pre v 2.5.0 software on it. You could change to aggressive shift schedule and adjust firmness on the fly.

That old software it's actually really strong and aggressive. The trucks haul ass with it, but it's a transmission eater/head gasket blower

I've run various edge tuners, h&s, and now SCT on my 6.0s. Hands down, SCT canned tunes are the fastest. Both edge piggy backs and flash programmers would cause the transmission to limp mode if you pushed it hard. H&S had nice smooth power, just left it on the hottest tune, trans was happy but stock feeling. SCT just flat out works. Add a custom tune and runs even better. As far as switching tunes, custom tunes program in a few minutes, faster than the canned tunes. When I do tow heavy, over 10K, I let it program while I'm hooking the trailer. Rest of the time, its on the hot tune and hammer down.

KEM does it, last I knew. He was the only one, and you lost shift on the fly when you went custom.

No, the 5R110 is incapable of taking changes on the fly, there in lies the problem.

There's a big difference in adjust line pressures and actually tuning the transmission. None of those generic tuners could access the TCM like a custom tuned SCT can.

Its a cool idea but I just don't see the need for it. When I had my 6.4 I never changed tunes. When I had my 7.3 with a 6 pos chip I never switched tunes. When I get around to tunning my 6.0. I will probably never switch tunes.

On a 6.0 most guys load up their x-street or x-race or whatever and just run that all the time. I only change tunes for two things, towing my camper (sometimes don't even do that) and I also detune for winter driving.

On an 03/04 6.0 it takes ~5 minutes to change tunes, on an 05-07, it's ~2 minutes. Is that time really worth destroying your trans???

Well, I'll respectfully pass on that

he asked if there was something that adjusted the transmission on the fly... the bully dog did. it changed the shift points as well. I don't know if they were accessing the tow/haul mode or the hot mode like H&S does or what. I didn't say I would recommend running one, simply that there is an OTF tuner that does adjust the transmission.

I don't think it's a matter of not being able to access the TCM, I think it's a matter of "here, this is good enough, we are busy developing tuning software for Dodges and GM's and SCT has the niche market on lock... we'll focus on volume".

nope!

hell, I leave my 6.4's cranked all the way up all the time also, and when running canned tunes, I would retune down to the standard tunes to pull a little timing while towing
