I am a Schaeffers dealer and will only run Valvoline Premium Blue 5-40 in a 6.0L

If you want more injector stiction run Schaeffers. I have been running Valvoline 5w40 or Rotella 10w30 for awhile now.

I wish this sentiment had been around a year ago when I first tried schaeffer 9000. Every where I read on PSN and other sites said it was good oil, but I tried it and immediately had bad idle until the oil temp got up to 130° then the truck would run fine. Ended up changing out the Schaeffer's back to my normal dino valvoline hoping that would fix it but it was already too late. Now my injectors weren't the best before the oil but never had trouble unless it was in single digit temps. The one thing that was nice was it made the truck super quiet and super smooth.

I ran it for about 100 miles and then dumped it. My truck ran terrible on the stuff so I drained it into a bucket and run it in my atv now. I switched back to regular 15w40 Valvoline premium blue and my truck is happy again.

Run the premium blue extreme through it, I'd be willing to bet it will get rid of it.

My truck had a miss on up to 2 cylinders when cold when I got it and it was running the dino premium blue and I was scared that I was gonna have to immediately replace injectors. I changed it to the extreme, then changed it again at 2500 miles just to make sure I got all the dino out and have changed it every 5 since and she purrs like a kitten now 50k later.

Warm ups are quicker. mpg is slightly better if you keep your foot out of it.

I run schaeffer's 7000 in mine, its a para-synthetic unlike the 9000... no idle issues for me. The lab has me cleared for 12k on a change

I ended up going for 1,000 miles on it but after changing it out back to the 15w40 dino premium blue which the truck had for the previous 40k it still wasn't right, 5k later I ended up getting 6 new injectors just before the warranty ran out. That was about 70k ago and everythings been fine.

It was a while back, and I could never find the synthetic premium blue so I just stick with the cheap dino valvoline and truck has been happy. Before I did the Schaeffer's stuff I had already had up to 3 dead cylinders on real cold starts so I know the schaeffer's wasn't 100% at fault but it definitely was the nail in the coffin.

well i put in the Valvoline EPB 5w40 syn this weekend and what a huge difference it made. I was a skeptic about it curing stiction and how much it would really smooth out cold starts and idle until warm. lets just say this is probably the smartest thing I've done for this truck since I've had it.

Congrats bud, glad it worked out for ya.

I'm sold for life on it. Good stuff, price is right, I can get it anywhere, the truck loves it, and the oas all come back saying to push for miles on the next change so its all good in my books.

Whats funny is that there are people out there who don't believe its worth it. They stick to their 15w40 dino in all temps and in all conditions no matter what the book says about running something thinner below freezing, or how their truck may act.

Trust me, if it didn't make a huge difference, I wouldn't spend the money on the stuff. I'm as cheap as the next guy, but I take care of what takes care of me. Without this truck, I don't make money.

It's only logical that an injection system that depends almost soley on hydrolic oil PSI would like an oil that disapates heat, keeps viscocity, doesn't thicken, doesn't burn producing carbon, and has smaller molecular stucture to more efficiantly stack under pressure.

I'll take a b4 and after vid of my dually with synthetic. It went from blacking out 2 lanes under throttle and only breaking the tires loose when spooled to a grey haze and smoking the right rears just stomping it.

I'm curious why the shaeffer causes more stiction in some trucks? I've run shaeffer in my 6leaker since april and no problems at all.

I know it is different for me being I have a 7.3 but switching to synthetic T6 from regular Rotella T was the best decision I've made. Truck runs better and starts easier than it ever has.

I would say the valvoline extreme premium blue is great...the mobil 1 5w40 turbodiesel quiets injectors even more....Both great oils...oreillys has the mobil on sale for 19.99 often so its easy to get a buy.

Shell oil is what you run in a peterbilt...not an heui inj'd truck. Although synthetic oil is better than dino oil however you arrive at it.

lmao...that was me until a couple months ago, I went with the Valvoline 5w40 syn & will stay with it year round from now on. NAPA has it on sale $19.99 a couple times a year around here so I just plan on buying it then. :)

I'm an amsoil dealer...I run amsoil in everything but the motor. Shaffers 9000 keeps mine happy no injector issues and no bypass...yet.
