Some parts started showing up today! Cam is still at the shop, as it needs the gear pressed on. Truck is coming apart tomorrow night. The intake is getting ceramic coated satin black, to match the rest of the powder coated goodies under the hood.

What are you using for a transmission, didn't see it mentioned anywhere?

Also, 205's and towing a 38' trailer? Yikes. I'm shocked to see you towing that big even with 190's. You're braver than I am.

Sounds like a super fun build though!

Trans is bone stock, aside from a deep ATS pan that was on it when i bought the truck. I was actually surprised myself that the 190s towed as well as they did, however, ive been told its all in nozzle sizing. I resisted the temptation to go bigger on nozzles and injector, as an 11 sec truck that tows would be awesome.

Just FYI... the body size of the injector has ZERO affect on towing abilities. It is all about the nozzle size.

155/30, 175/30, 190/30, 205/30, etc... will all run EXACTLY the same on a tow tune. You will just have more power on a race tune. Essentially when you turn down the pulse width with any of those injectors the will all basically run like 155/30s

With a little spray I bet you could be in the 11s

You and Corey are bad influences LOL. Im gonna see how close i get, then start taking parts off, and maybe drop tire pressure. Im sure there is gonna be a gain over 65 psi. Plus that hitch, bumpers, and skidplates look awful heavy :lookaround:

Hmm.....so other than the cam and the 625s, this is pretty much exactly what my build is going to end up...interesting :) It might be worth driving over the hill to Diamond Eye and getting on their dyno to see what my numbers would be before H4H this year.

So, got her apart today, and it was not good :fustrate:. Heads came off and found 4 pistons had cracks, three of which had hit valves, and another that had hit valves. Apparently 40+ psi of boost on stock 200k mile valve springs is not all that good an idea. Dont know how much boost as i onlu have a 35 psi gauge, but it was damn near wrapped back to 0. Once the front cover was off, decent scoring was found, and my main bearings didnt look happy. :cursing:

Thanks to the guys at diesels and more, a new set of mahle pistons, rings, and arp rod bolts will be here friday. Picked up a full set of bearings tonite from them. And Got a new front cover on order thru ford, and hopefully no more surprises...

However, on a happier noye, No Limit intake was dropped off to get ceramic coated, along with the compressor housing of the Stage 3. My XDP sump also showed up so hopefully she'll be back together for the NHRDA on yhe 30th.

I dont think so, im gonna double check it again, but it was holding pretty good with the 625s. The heads are getting o ringed this time around too. But if the block is warped, ill get it machined, im hoping it doesnt need it though.

Why don't you buy those 225/75's out of Slow Billy's piled up mess of a truck lol. Would be a good time to put those in :D

No. I still need to be able to tow, even though those injectors would be pretty fun. I dont need to be buying another set of pistons after trying something stupid with that big of injector

Heres some pics....

Dont know how good the crack in the piston showed up, but you can definately see the valve marks.

Edit: After looking at it, the crack is real small above the lower valve mark, by the injector spray. Its a small crack, but chitty none the less...
