Yeah.....it was a painful lesson. The entire job should take more than an hour. I was pretty frazzled by the time it went to leaking so my fuse was short. I know better. I should've walked away and looked it up. There's a very helpful video on YouTube.

Just takes some patients wiggling it out or was there a trick?

1. Pull glove box down.
2. Unhook vacuum heater door plunger and remove.
3. Remove blend door actuator then bracket.
4. Remove core cover.
5. Remove core.

The blend door actuator bracket has two hooks facing the firewall that pin the core tubes to the firewall. Thats where I screwed up, if I had been patient and stuck a light in there I would've seen the hooks.

Just replaced the gauge cluster illumination bulbs tonight. Every single one was burnt out :doh:
I took my time and did the whole process in an hour.

Got a nice surprise Thursday while making a trip to town for a pulley puller.

Thought it was the alternator but after talking to Chris (Vanderchevy18) and doing some investigating it turns out the starter relay wires got switched.

Started 2wd delete last night, hopefully driving it tonight or tomorrow.

Got a late start because of the weather. Had to pick up a dodge truck and didn't get home till noon. Had to quit at 4pm to go to a spaghetti fund raiser for the after prom committee. It's complete minus the rear shackles, steering and brake calipers.
