That's it? That burnout can kill a transmission? This is my first truck but have had a lot of turbo and muscle cars never seen a transmission fail so easily.

That little burnout certainly did not cause your transmission to fail. It was already failing. It sounds like a solenoid is stuck open to me.

Hell yeah I would be pissed too. I think/hope something else caused it to fail or it was on its way out. I read 2015 transmissions are "weaker" but they arnt made of glass.

Edit: looks like op has 2014 but still...

Every since Ive read about the transmissions Ive been kinda babying my truck. Not ready to drop money on a tranny considering its a brand new truck. Kinda sucks cause I want to make some runs doing some 4x4 launches. Does anyone know whatelse besides the tranny Im risking on breaking when doing 4x4 launches?

Well I figured it would hold up better since it was a 14 model but I guess I was wrong. Sure didn't think a measly little burnout would do that to a transmission...

My recommendation-don't do it. I learned my lesson well...

Don't worry bout it if your tunes are good and you've got some time on them. I just did a few 4x4 launches at 2k rpm today. It's fun spinning all 4 37s lol.
