That's great news Steve. I remember when we talked this truck wasn't something you were sure you'd keep so a custom body wasn't on a list of improvements for it.
The key board diagnostics we used even with video and more input from a phone call is like using stone tools and bear skins compared to the diagnostic equipment needed to positively isolate the cause of a transmission problem. LOL :D
Looks like experience solving transmission problems made it possible this time. :) Thanks for posting the results!

racer, just curious, if it was in your shop, is there a machine you have to pinpoint the issue and how long to diagnose with such a machine?

also, what is the performance valve body you speak of, what would it do for me?

thanks
Chris

Do I remember from BTS some kind of tool that was used to clean up some of the bores in the valve body?

Nice to see this havea happy ending.

Yes, for part of one of the bodies. It can't fix them and true the bores very well at all. You hit a screw driver with a hammer to use this thing....:hammer: :morons: LOL Miss slightly and either you end up ruining the critical sealing surface between passages (worm tracks) or you can crack the body and ruin it. We used them 10 or more yrs ago and hammering actually bent them. Then there was a $200-$300 "reamer" that worked as precision as using a spiral easy out for broken bolts would be. LOL Valves would still hang. We came up with our own solutions.

Today, we make oversize valves out of more durable material for all the bodies and bores. We precision line bore them oversize truing the bores, then recalibrate the body. Better end plugs too. That is one source for metal particles that wears out bodies quickly. Daily heat cycles warps them over time.

The thing on the link is like a rifle cleaning brush. It can't true the bore or renew or replace worn surfaces or eliminate excess clearance that causes leakage and lowers available apply and holding pressure needed to prevent clutch slippage and burn. That's especially important for T. Converters and TC clutches to work and hold during lock up.
