So I brought up this idea in a section, seeing what you guys as a whole think. Seems like our trucks are being common to be taken. There's a lot of security systems out there but those don't always work either. If a new idea came out that would keep our trucks from starting via a secondary switch prior to starting would it be a hassle for folks or worth the time and effort to look into something ?

I use a secondary inline switch hidden somewhere out of the way that will allow the truck to crank but no start. Just like a disconnected harness. This allows my silent alarm to go off and a better chance to confront the thief. :swordfight:

I prefer the claymore method.... its a bit messy, but gets the point across. I thought there was a system out there that disabled vehicles so they would not run when theft was attempted.... I will do some looking. Is this something you are looking to develop Kevin?

I pull the fuel pump relay and fuse. The way they steel them in miami, is with a wrecker that picks it up buy the wheels.go around the corner and secure the wheel straps. then to the chop shop in hialeah

Look in the vendor section under Quick Tricks, I'll have more info as time goes on.

Dave thought about that to. But if they can pop the hood and access it and find out it wouldn't matter. Besides towing, hot wiring and punching out ignition, I was thinking of something along the lines on a 7.3 n 6.0 is a kill switch or safety switch to the IDM, FICM, ECM's. Eliminating all power to it, even if they did hot wire it.

Are there any security devices that your insurance companies recommend? Only seems smart that they invest in those.

I have a Vandal Alert remote kill relay. I take the stock PCM relay out and replace it with a remote activated switch. kills all power to the PCM (no crank, nothing) until I arm it with a key fob. Best $120 I've spent on this thing yet.

thats pretty sweet, but for my truck if they want it, they can have it LOL full coverage for a reason.
