I've heard the hype and claims. Even some stuff that it's hard for me to believe. Such as 40rwhp, and 1-4 mpg?

The truck in question is an 06 CCLB 4x4 that will be dyno tuned by a company claiming 170rwhp over stock.

Is all of this pretty reasonable? 170+40=210 over stock. Assuming stock is 250 minimum...
460 with an FICM and tune?

ficm tuning removes all fuel injection timing restrictions allowing you to get the most out of the pcm tuning... yes there is certainly such a thing as a 40rwhp gain and substantial mileage increase

Good info. 40 rwhp over stock. But out of a tune?

the pcm tuning can be maxed out fuel wise as all race tunes are... but the fueling limitations (in the ficm flash) skews the timing of injection cycles... this is why you pick up the gains.. you use all the fuel in the tune at the right time = more power

now the injector is maxed out entirely in pcm tuning and injection timing. Hope this clarifies things for you

well the 40 hp is probably a pretty reasonable expectation out of a FICM tune, from everything I have heard anyways. (Like it is night and day almost) but I doubt 210 total hp over stock. JMO FWIW.

realistically the most you will see out of a stock injector turbo truck fuel only with a tune will be a max 420 may be close to 440-450 with a ficm tune..

a friend of mine layed down 442 with extreme race, idp moderate ficm flash, 5 inch exhaust, intake, 03 turbo and thats it.

I've posed this question before. I also have not received a clear answer for the "gains". If I'm laying out the cash I want dyno proven gains, not seat of the pants gains. Everyone says there is gains and 40 hp is the majic number but where is the before and after dyno sheets from the same dyno?

From my research on this most of these guys have upgraded ficm's with voltage and since it was there tuned the ficm or bought it pretuned when their's died.

Not trying to start an argument, or dispute gains in milage or power. Because I believe there is some gains. I just want dyno proof.

did you not just read what i said above? Do you really need a dyno sheet to justify it?

Yes, I did read everything. But what did he lay down before ficm tune and was it on the same dyno?

$400 to $620 is alot to lay down for minmal amount of horsepower gains. That's ficm plus tuning.

actually PHP's tune is $150, IDP's tune is $200 and KEM's tune is $300

and he layed down 407 to the wheels on the same dyno a few weeks prior with the stock ficm flash stock intake but other than that it was the same.

From everything I have read it has more to do with the tune than the voltage of the ficm. If you look at just 30hp vice 40 for a $150 tune then that is $5/hp. Not bad IMO. JMO.

there may be "a lot" of variables but these three tuners will more than likely get you 30+ actual horse power from either one of their tunes.

This is the first time there has been anything close to back to back data. I've been following the ficm tuning from its inception. I think if I am to do it, I would just buy a tuned ficm from Innovative. I don't like being without the truck for that long. Just me being anal.

A tuned ficm did nothing on my '04. However on my '05 dually it was a noticeable difference. I know Garrett's truck ran good when it had just a ficm tune also.

Some consumers dont like "more than likely" when it comes to results. Im not doubting that it would give me 30+ HP but i would like to see some proof first. Ive been wanting to get mine tuned but i dont have a working spare FICM to throw on the truck. When Eric comes out with his remote tuning i will more than likely invest in the FICM tuning.
