I gotcha. I agree with you. I also believe that even though I didn't pick up the big gains others did on the dyno, I think my truck is so much more resposive now. It is my opinion the 58v upgrade and FICM tuning are both worth every penny.

I agree. Even if I only picked up 8Hp (I am fairly confident that since I can feel a difference it has to be more than that), at least it was something and since the engine is SO much smoother AND more responsive, I'll take it.

This is were it gets kinda complicated. If I hadn't dynoed my truck and actually saw the numbers I would have assumed a 25-35 hp increase minimum. I only got 8hp but it feels like 4X that much.

Is the 8hp gained at peak hp? If so i would assume the gains are greater throughout the torque curve. I would like to see a tuned vs untuned graph of the power curve laid over top of each other.

I definitely got the tune and the throttle response was totally worth it. I'll post up in a week or two about any fuel mileage gains. Thanks for coming out Curt.

There looks to be a definite jump in power at like the 1800 rpm mark and then it meets right back up the rest of the way through being just slightly above the stock FICM power cruve. Thanks for the info man.

I'll send the sheet to work with my wife tomorrow and she can scan it and e-mail it to me. Then I can post it up and you may actually be able to read it. I'm very happy with my truck though. Everyone there was pushing me to run it again and try to break the 1000lbs-ft mark, but I figured that the numbers where good and I would quit while I was ahead and nothing was broken. We did have a 6.4 puke a head gasket on the dyno and the club President's truck kept blowing intercooler pipes.

I've been talkin to eric about his remote FICM tuning and i got on the list. I was running his moderate tuned FICM up until it acted up...i think there's an electrical issue with it. So i had to put the one on off of my spare engine. Eric told me to actually go with his mild FICM tuning this time instead of the moderate tuning. He told me this because the mild tuning has more pulse width that'll be better for the 75% nozzles.
Here's what he told me in an email
Chris,

Your FICM was probably failing electronically. I have a remote flasher you can flash the FICM with. I can use the mild or moderate. With your 75% nozzles, I'd go with the milder version. There's a little more PW.

Eric

Just thought i'd share this info for the ones who have 75% nozzles and are undecided on what FICM flash to get if you were to get one from ID

Finally ran the better part of a tank on my 6.0L and with the Hercules tune and Extreme ECM tune I went 289 miles on 14.16 gallons of fuel, for an average of 20.41 MPG. That is filling at the same station, same pump, same angle, and filled to the neck. My previous tank (which I only ran a little bit) was 139 miles on 7.04 gallons of fuel for an average of 19.74 MPG. Not bad for a truck that makes 442 HP! For reference, the best I have ever recorded prior to that was in the 17.9 MPG range.

Now keep in mind my truck is a 2WD Single Cab on street tires at 65-70 PSI. I was also driving like I had my grandmother in the truck. I'm going to try a tank on "normal" driving and see where I end up. So far though, I'm pretty happy where I'm at. :D

Hopefully we'll get some other results posted in here. I'm curious as to what the lifted trucks are getting.

A lot of guys running Matt's tunes don't seem to get the mileage as those running other tuners. I know Matt is a good tuner and I appreciate his efforts to make big power with less smoke, but even Chris, the GPDA President, has had a horrible time trying to get decent mileage on Matt's tunes. Chris is about to try the Super Panty Dropper from TSD since so many of our members are running that with awesome mileage results.
