I'm looking to narrow down my plans for a turbo upgrade. My truck is a 2013 F-250 with 9,000 miles and it's a daily driver for around town. I've had my eyes set on a VGT kit from Elite Diesel Engineering. My goal is a responsive, quick-spooling city truck with a distinct, somewhat obnoxious turbo whistle. Judging through various sound clips, I've concluded that either a Fleece Cheetah or Danville turbo will best suit my needs. I see that Elite offers both of these aftermarket turbos, except their Danville turbo has the 72mm compressor wheel, which may be too large for the responsiveness I desire. Also, I would like to round up a ballpark figure of how much this upgrade will cost in order for me to set aside the correct amount of funds. Please excuse my lack of expertise on the subject, I've come on this forum in hopes of proper guidance. Any advice will be much appreciated...

Dantron,

You can get the same whistle from the cheaper Garrett Powermax turbos as the Danville/Fleece unit.

For snappy street use I recommend our Tow-Power turbo kit. This kit uses a GT3794 Garrett Powermanx, it has a loud whistle, comparable to an 2003 6.0L for reference.

Thanks! I will definitely keep that in mind. The money saved will help towards the installation cost. I wouldn't mind paying extra on the turbo if the modifications are worth the price increase. It's something to look into...

Search Dan Seitler on You Tube. You will see 10 or more video's of the testing we did with Elite's GT4094 Kit. The one night video is what your looking for.

I typed in "Elite 6.7 VGT" on YouTube and watched the videos posted by Colton Malek and Younger19931. I found out later it was Gary's truck after someone shared a link to the build thread. Sadly, there's a shortage of video material on these kits. I'm going to check out Dan Seitler's clips now...

Sorry I'm not on FB and those are Morgan Y's videos. Just look up my build thread, they should be there. Maybe somebody else can post that link up.
