Anyone have the turbo crossover pipe bracket shear the 4 studs off and have the pipe pop off the turbos while driving? The top 2 it just sheared the stud off the top of the nut/stud combo. The lower 2 fasteners broke in the head.

I had mine separate, but it would still hold boost, well, a bit of boost!

Yes I've seen this before. The bolts didn't break in the head either. Pull that u pipe assembly off. Then pull the bolts that broke, the hold the valve cover on. Order ; new bolts from ford and the nuts to secure the u pipe assembly down. Should be a a few hour fix if your not experienced on these trucks.

It broke the lower bolts below the bolt head. Trust me.

Only took me an hour or so to get it out. I'm pretty familiar with working blind and contorting my hands around the engine bay. LOL

Luckily I got the bolts out of the rocker box pretty easily. But after looking at the truck it appears to be blowing oil out of the WOP wastegate dump tube? There is oil all over underneath the truck and it all leads back to the dump tube. The guy ended up driving home from Florida with the crossover pipe wired up to stay on but there was still a boost leak.

Would that crack a piston over that amount of time? They were monitoring EGTs the whole way. What else could it be?

Well I found out where the oil was finally coming from. If you do have a crossover pipe break the bolts and fall off, I'd suggest checking the oil dipstick tube very closely. This one was cracked inside the dipstick tube bracket that bolts to the crossover pipe mounting bracket. Impossible to see mounted on the truck.

Just a hairline crack but it moves ALOT of oil out of it!

Minor boost leak holds up but makes that gurgling squeal sound like someone is blowing through blades of grass.

I should be able to get those studs at Ford? Anything else I should do or check while I got this thing off?

That clamp looks fine. What is the other bolt you are on?

Its not the clamp that I have an issue with that's a broken stud. The other stud is what the turbo charger crossover tube / fuel cooler bracket bolts to. Sorry that second picture is a little dark. I'm trying to get the part# for those studs. Just called ford they got them ordered for me.
