Twin turbo question

heres a plan i have. im on i plan to buy a set of stage two injectors when theyre in i want to buy a 1.00 housing for my stock turbo and then put a larger turbo from a mack semi as a second (the reason im using this turbo is bc its free) idk what size it is but i was wandering how well this setup would work

Well first thing would be sizing. To help us, help you, we would need some info on your atmosphere charger you plan to use.

As well, the stock OBS turbo is kinda a pile when it comes to performance. You will probably need to gate around it pretty heavily to keep it alive and happy.

With stage 2s, around 450 depending on the health of your hpop and the aggressiveness of the tuning.

wish i was around it to let you know won't be home til later in the week but i forgot to mention this as well i plan to get a fass fuel system and an adrenaline hpop

i have been informed it could be an ht3b which i think is like a hx40 or something i could be wrong and probably am i just had a buddy tell me once it looked like an hx40

Negative chief

Your buddy does not know turbos

A HT3B and a HX40 are nothing a like other than they are both turbos

Take off the compressor cover and measure the inducer should be 74mm if its a BHT3B and 76mm if its a HT3B.

The turbine inducer 111mm, I think, its been awhile.

Is the housing divided or undivided? Undivided is best much lighter weight. Housing is probably a 28cm. It should say on the exhaust housing.

Also make sure its not a ST50 which is worthless. A ST50 has a band going around the center section and a million blades on the compressor.

The problem is the stock charger just won't handle the abuse in a compound application. I believe that Bean tried it years ago with a stock turbo & a S475 & kept having to rebuild the stocker. I know Jim at Rosewood did a stock/ht3b setup with mixed results. Might check with him.

to make anything really good your looking at right 6k if you get really lucky and get quite a few smoking deals on turbos and such then fab everything yourself. And stage 2's arent really all that worth putting compounds on for if your gonna do compounds make it well worth your while and give you something to hang on to :pimp:
