That's pretty good lol, this is my mileage empty going 75mph on the highway. At the end of the day it is a who really cares deal though. I'm pretty fortunate to have a company fuel card so I can't even begin to complain haha

That's what I average. I cruise at 75-80 though.


Got you beat by 5k miles. I'm at 85k lol.

Was worn out. Over 500K, and Tons of engine hours. Engine needed complete overhaul I figured it wasn't worth the money, considering the other repairs needed too. So I swapped the service box to an 05 C-7500 chassis.

Our sled trailer is pretty light, wanna say 2700 empty. Add in 4 sleds at 600lbs, and maybe another 600 in gear/tools/spare tires. Think its 26ft from the hitch to the rear door, 6'6" inside.

Truck pulled it awesome, set the cruise at 72 and it never downshifted or lost speed like our other trucks would do in the hills in northern Michigan. BUT our 7.3, 6.0, and 6.6 all would do 10.5-13 pulling the same trailer on the same roads. The fuel cost isn't a big deal, but it sucks having to get fuel every 220 miles. Hell the OBS 7.3 would damn near make it there on one load of fuel.

Diet time. I'd imagine it's doing quite a bit of regen cycles.

not when towing.. keeps it cleaned out actually.. egt is usually hotter when hooked to a sled.. I get the same mileage with my 6.7 towing whatever behind it.. 9.5 to 11 mpg regardless of what is hooked behind it..

Good point on the egts. Weird they still can't get these truck to get better than 10 mpg towing. My dads 04 got that back in 04. Over a decade newer and still the same mpg towing.

I get 14 with my dually towing... anything I have put behind it anyway.

That wide trailer is killing you, your only 2 options: slow down, or get and "inline" trailer, but then it would be 30' + long.

It's he speed he's towing at. I bet if he towed as slow as his old trucks, it would probably get even better then the old trucks got.

Hauling my toy hauler with my old 6.0 I got 6-8mpg avg 10 mpg once following a motor home the whole time and with my 6.7 on the same trip I got 6.5 going into a headwind and 7.5-8.3 on the way back with no wind. Both trucks set cruise at 70-73

Yup only 18' long LOL it had to of had some sort of dovetail on it and someone cut it off. My plans are to put another dovetail on it with 2 big fold up ramps or a 9' hydraulic dovetail.

Use it to tow my project, and some of my friends cars, wish I had the money for a good trailer, would probably tow better, but can't complain about 17 mpgs
