Took it out for some snow wheeling tonight, now it needs a bath. I think there's about of foot of snow/ice caked on the tube steps lol. Actually made it kinda harder to open my door since it was up past the bottom of the door.

Oil pan gaskets . Valve cover leak found and fixed and new glow plugs and harnesses . Long day but hopefully no more leaks . I don't mind a few drips but she was leaking like a mofo lol .

Jacked up the engine , not the most fun job but not the worst either .

were you able to get the pan off or just kind of work around it? I have one with some serious rust and I am waiting for the day it starts leaking and needs replaced.
You can get them off, I typically drop the pickup tube into the lower pan and then pull both pans at the same time. Takes some tetrising to get under the trans/rear cover to remove them, but it will fit.

Plenty of videos on you tube for good tips and tricks . I did it on my back but my trucks lifted so it wasn't too bad . You can get the pan and the aluminum pan adapter off by raising the motor an inch and pulling the pickup tube
. I put 1" blocks under the motor mounts and then let it down so the jacks were not in my way . The hard part was figuring out what to take off so it didn't get damaged .

I just realized, are you talking about a 6.0? I am talking about a 7.3.

I they are talking about the 6.0, since upper and lower oil pan were mentioned, but it's doable with the 7.3 as well.

Took it to the tint guy.
5% fronts and 25% over factory in the rear.
Probably would have done 20% over the rear next time or even just 5% all around. Little bit lighter in the rear than the front, but you can only tell from inside.

I’m way below the state limit.
Legal here is 35% on the meter which is like 40% film. (Glass reflects a little light)
I had 20% film on my yukon and I thought it was too light. I’m not after dark tint for the sake of having dark tint, I want the heat rejection and privacy. I always wear sunglasses.
Plus I can pick my nose in traffic now LOL

Use ceramic then. Its lighter than carbon but blocks far more heat

My installer has a clear heat film, I’m pretty sure. I’m considering doing it on the windshield.
