I've never ran or rode anything with Swamps tuning, but they are one of the best shops in the country.

It's hard to go wrong with PHP tunes. In my personal experience, Gearhead tuning is great. You should consider them.

I like gearhead tunes, ran them on my last zf6 f350

My truck ran 12.9 with 250/200's and S468.

I was wondering how much nitrous would be safe with an S468 with no waste gate ?

An s475 is a better matched turbo for 400/400's but yer gonna kill forged rods

A s468 fmw will outflow a box s471.

I wouldn't run 400/400's with a s468 without a wastegate.

Smaller exhaust housings help spool a turbo faster.

Why would I want to wastegate the s486 with the 400/400? To keep the back pressure in check?

Would it be better to run a bigger exhaust housing to keep the torque down and save the stock rods? Just learning as this is my first diesel build, thanks for the advice so far!

You're not gonna be able to get on top of that charger fast enough to snap rods I wouldn't think. It's gonna be a smokey laggy pig, get a really dialed in daily driver tune and leave it there until you want to play. I've had 275'/200's with a zf6 and a s466, always hazed, if you sneezed on the pedal wrong it would smoke, egt's never were under 1000 at any point in time. Not so much fun to daily drive but when the s400 lit up it was a grin for sure. Good luck personally i'd give matt@gearhead a try first

My pull truck has been on a 250xxx stock bottom end for a while with FFD 400/400's, gen3, a 482 with ported race cover and 220+ shot of Nos .... it's not a daily driver but it's still legal and I take it for a drive every once in a while...I snapped a BTS intermediate shaft during a pull but the motor is still going. Sorry, can't help you with the hp numbers. PS- I had a 472 with the 400's before and even with the nitrous it was still super smokey, I would definetly go with a bigger charger but drop your exhaust side down a lot to help with the lag. A BB turbo such as a GT 42 or 45R series is probably going to make a better daily driver for you than 400 series turbo because it will spool faster.

And what i would do if the 400 nozzles. Are not working out go to some 2s

I would hope to see you in the 600+ a little..

Good luck withe the build... have fun with it..

There's no single turbo that can clean up 2.3 ms of fuel from either a 200% or a 400% nozzle...so don't be chasing a single turbo that doesn't exist.

That said. ..that 468. ..is a damn tough turbo that you can rebuild for cheap as long as you don't tear up a comp wheel.

I'd just call your live tuner of choice and schedule the appointment. ...as 400% in a DD are definitely gonna need some tweaking.

And like Bruce said above. ..I'd either swap the 400% nozzles for 200%....or keep the 400% but get bigger oil in there (gen3, duals, 150+% Stealth pump)....cause you're gonna run into dc% issues with a single pump and big nozzles.

Smoker00 advice is gtg too...just run it and see....just keep in mind the points listed in my post and above it.

That s468 is gonna get lively around 1750-1900 rpm depending on tuning....but it's gonna need some help (atmosphere turbo or nitrous) to clean up 400% nozzles (even 200% nozzles)

I beg to differ on the single turbo cleaning up 2.3 ms on a 200%.

I had a set of 350/200s and my charger cleaned them up to a very light haze.

Yes, that's exactly what a wastegate will do, keep bp in check.

I'm sure with live tuning they can make 400/400's behave, but there gonna be de-tuned for that charger, an amazing setup would be 300/200's and a gtx4294r, but for a lot cheaper the s468 fmw with a .90 housing and a wastegate would get it done. You can't completely clean up 300/200's with a gtx4294r without spray.

Th3 op wont even tickle the 400% nozzles with that 468. They will be waaay detuned.

I had the gtx4294r with 300/200 gearhead tuning it smoked very little. Great for a dd.zero lag.just put on a gtx4202r

Isn't that similarly sized to the 468? Do you think it may have been pulled back a hair? A 400/400 and 300/200 will fuel that charger "a little" differently either way. Most compound trucks emoke like crazy with those in any tune that utilizes that fuel. I realize some of the self tuners are driving around clean but this doesnt appeaf to be the case for the op.

I may be way wrong so sorry if I am.
