Op I'm suprised no one has told you to talk directly to your tuner (swamps) especially since u are using thoer parts. They know the 7.3 as well as anyone. The stick will help keep the low end torque down which is what kills rods but u never know I blew mine up and it's a stick on 40s with 250/200s and 68 fmw. Good luck with things

He's gonna call and say he has 400/400's and there gonna tell him to run there BFH 74mm turbo and Gen 3 HPOP, then he's gonna say it's a daily driver, there gonna say why are you running 400/400's on a daily driver lol

My pull truck has been on a 250xxx stock bottom end for a while with FFD 400/400's, gen3, a 482 with ported race cover and 220+ shot of Nos .... it's not a daily driver but it's still legal and I take it for a drive every once in a while...I snapped a BTS intermediate shaft during a pull but the motor is still going. Sorry, can't help you with the hp numbers. PS- I had a 472 with the 400's before and even with the nitrous it was still super smokey, I would definetly go with a bigger charger but drop your exhaust side down a lot to help with the lag. A BB turbo such as a GT 42 or 45R series is probably going to make a better daily driver for you than 400 series turbo because it will spool faster.

Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna let swamps live tune it and see how she runs. I'll see how streetable the setup is and then upgrade accordingly.

I'll Trade you your 400/400 for my 300/200.

Not right now man, maybe if something doesn't work out.

I say Run it.. not sure if you will have enough oil but monitor it and see.. also BP..And see what its doing..

And what i would do if the 400 nozzles. Are not working out go to some 2s

I would hope to see you in the 600+ a little..

Good luck withe the build... have fun with it..

The plan is to enjoy it, and get another FR 7.3 if she does detonate. I'll be sure to get a BP gauge, thanks.

There's no single turbo that can clean up 2.3 ms of fuel from either a 200% or a 400% nozzle...so don't be chasing a single turbo that doesn't exist.

That said. ..that 468. ..is a damn tough turbo that you can rebuild for cheap as long as you don't tear up a comp wheel.

I'd just call your live tuner of choice and schedule the appointment. ...as 400% in a DD are definitely gonna need some tweaking.

And like Bruce said above. ..I'd either swap the 400% nozzles for 200%....or keep the 400% but get bigger oil in there (gen3, duals, 150+% Stealth pump)....cause you're gonna run into dc% issues with a single pump and big nozzles.

Smoker00 advice is gtg too...just run it and see....just keep in mind the points listed in my post and above it.

That s468 is gonna get lively around 1750-1900 rpm depending on tuning....but it's gonna need some help (atmosphere turbo or nitrous) to clean up 400% nozzles (even 200% nozzles)

Thanks for the advice, I'll post up the results within the next month. Hope to have everything all sorted out before SDX next month

Yes, that's exactly what a wastegate will do, keep bp in check.

I'm sure with live tuning they can make 400/400's behave, but there gonna be de-tuned for that charger, an amazing setup would be 300/200's and a gtx4294r, but for a lot cheaper the s468 fmw with a .90 housing and a wastegate would get it done. You can't completely clean up 300/200's with a gtx4294r without spray.

I'm sure swamps will be able to get her all lined out. Thanks for the advice, it's gonna be a fun learning experience either way!

Did yours puke a rod? Too much torque down low? Who was your tuner? Hope yours gets on the road soon

I say we Trade injectors )

If I was in his position I'd take that trade, 300/200's are the largest I would personally ever go for a daily driver, and for a forged bottom end.

But since it's not me and I personally wanna see what Swamps can do with this setup I say let's see what happens.

Interested in rwhp numbers and how clean they can make it run.

I honestly don't know how a SRP1.1 will handle 400/400's even being de-tuned, not a clue, but I wanna know. If it handles them well and your live tuned I wouldn't be surprised if you were over 600.

With 300/200 and a srp that was way more than enough for the street.since I Don't dd my truck I'm looking for more.plus I have a gen3 sitting here. Ready to put on.
I Think with 400% nozzles and a srp he Will have No more power than with a %200 nozzle. Maybe less

Yea mine threw a rod and swamps was tuning it. That's the gamble you take hope yours holds together for you. And I was running a 1.10 housing

Made 560 self tuned with that charger and 330/200's... that was with the 1.10 housing. Drivability was there, relatively smoke free, and had the tuning dialed to.where power came on around 2200. Swapped to a .91 housing and it is much more fun with the zf6. Just be prepared for it not to be as torque-y as you may like. The zf6 kinda hurts that category... but its still a fun truck to drive! Oh and that was with PW limited to about 2.5-2.7

Cool...Is the "light haze" the one in your avatar lol

I won't get in a pissing match with you on this Groomzy. ...clean is a relative term.

What's the nozzle/turbo in your avatar?

They were a 4to1 ;) 6xx/400s. Didn't make any power. I gave up trying to compete with a 7.3 in 2.6, they are about 600hp off.

Maybe I missed something but why is the op dead set on running 400/400s just curious?

Just got a really good deal on em and swamps said it would be no problem to tune them so the s468 cleans up the 400/400s. If the combo throws a rod, then I'll upgrade chargers and have even more fun with it.

Did they live tune it or just email you custom tunes?

It's all about having fun and I plan on doing just that! Really excited!!!!
